Pre-Season tour of America
Rumours are flying around Twitter than Burnley will be touring the USA in preparation for the new season, including a trip to Salt Lake.
Re: Pre-Season tour of America
Without doubt, I would say. Nothing to do with proper prep now!

No they’re not flying around. It’s one account who claims to be a journo who, if you look, has a habit of making up stuff.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 3:16 pmRumours are flying around Twitter than Burnley will be touring the USA in preparation for the new season, including a trip to Salt Lake.
Pace said not long ago that the plan was to go to America. I believe they had two sets of plans depending on which league we were in and when we kicked off.
I’ve since been told it’s not happening.

Fall for what crap? People are discussing it, Tony says not happening, which I have no reason to question. I do find your phraseology rather strange at times.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 3:34 pmHow do people genuinely still fall for this crap.

Probably referring to the ‘journalists’ on twitter that are just morons with not a single touch of media credibility making things up to have people on strings.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:01 pmFall for what crap? People are discussing it because it's been made up by someone who pretends to be a journalist on Twitter, that's probably the crap he's referring to.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:01 pmFall for what crap? Fall for a young lad making up that he is a journalist and posting random stuff every day just waiting for a few to bite.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:01 pmFall for what crap? Re: Pre-Season tour of America
Not the source I saw, I saw American’s eagerly discussing the possibility of local matches (to them). I repeat how is mentioning what people are discussing ‘crap’? This is a discussion group, people discussing other than you neither makes the topic or the people involved crap. To use the Americanism, ‘will you ever get over yourself?’Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:06 pmFall for a young lad making up that he is a journalist and posting random stuff every day just waiting for a few to bite.

I’ll repeat, the info I was given was that we are not going. Not sure any pre-season has been arranged yet.

It all came from one lad trying to hook a few. Looks like it has worked.

[Maybe we'll be going to the Benelux countries instead - or perhaps we'll go vintage Ternent and visit Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay with a midnight curfew

The source was probably on here, from the poster who went in corporate for an evening match and had the speech from Alan Pace. Who told him they were touring America.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 4:22 pmAnd that wasn’t the source

A “journalist” that has 158 followers and only follows 2 accounts, one of which is “ClaretsXtra” tells you all you need to know about credibility

Only went twice - 1983 when Bond was manager and then for the final in 2001.

I knew I’d picked it up from something Pace said but wasn’t sure where. It was that Q&A he did before a game.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 5:36 pmThe source was probably on here, from the poster who went in corporate for an evening match and had the speech from Alan Pace. After that showing last week it should be a pre season tour in Cleethorpes
Re: Pre-Season tour of America
Wouldn't mind another Ireland Trip ... Shamrock Rovers were very accomodating and Tallaght a good venue

That twitter account BradJonesJourno is absolute bunkum. He has been posting about Burnley since back in January, tweets very regularly yet had something like 99 tweets to his name. Shows you just how many he has deleted.
I suppose it gets him some attention though and that is what it must be about.

Went for four days and benefited from fantastic weather too. Made unbelievably welcome by Cork FC and their fans and some really nice places to visit.

Re: Pre-Season tour of America
If I am honest Sligo is a real football town but Galway is a party town .
If the Club did go back to Ireland we would be based in Carton House or Foto Island again , kind of Dublin or Cork but i am sure we would Play Cobh as we have links now .

They were at Foto Island I think in 2013. We had a day out at Cobh but didn’t get up to the ground.

Possible under 23 games against the clubs we did partnerships with? Ayr United was one, cannot remember the others.
