Somebody mentioned jazz earlier. Here’s the great Gary Moore taking Parisienne Walkways to another place at the Montreux jazz festival. Full instrumental.

Re: Favourite instrumental record...
Those last four tunes got me thinking of my old friend Marcus Kaye better known in recent years as Marcus Intallex/Trevino (he was a big golf fan) and the hours we spent listening to music and travelling to clubs in the mid to late 80's. A small group of us pooled our record collections for him to use in his first days as a DJ, we always believed in his talent.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 2:22 amI will always be grateful for Satie

Marcus died prematurely of a heart attack 5 years ago last Tuesday - he was probably the most significant music maker out of Burnley in my lifetime, yet many in the town have never heard of him - that did not stop the dedicated tribute shows to him around the world as the news of his passing broke including Giles Peterson on Radio Six - he was adored, respected and revered around the world - there was a great tribute thread on here also though it now seems to have been archived

They always played the Shadows in the Koh I Noor. I think they just used to keep inserting the same cassette tape each time it finished? The album version is good, as is one of the Pompei versions.
Not quite my favourite PF song, which is Atom Heart Mother.
The fellow who lives above me is a PF fan - his dog is called Floyd - and he copied for me a pretty good sounding bootleg of a concert which he attended with Gilmour, Geesin and the Italian Pink Floyd. A snippet is here:
