ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
BBC already running a story about “Kompany’s Burnley” away to Hudds.
It’s happening. We might even be the media darlings this year.

Yes, most of them on the red button. It's been like that for a few years now.

Nice Friday night win, top of the league for a good few hrs
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
Bit rubbish that it's not the likes of Liverpool, Man. U., Arsenal etc.
Have to get used to playing Preston, Blackburn for one season at least.

Is there a set time for midweek kick offs?

Thanks for putting the day Tony. Club announcement wasn’t very helpful in seeing which were weekend/weekday matches.
Looks like most of the midweeks are at home. Rotherham & Preston pretty convenient. Hull & Boro the worst midweek aways but that’s not too bad - Boro being on a Friday night anyway.

No - I know Reading play their home games with an 8 o'clock kick off. I've just set ours all at 7:45 until anything is confirmed. Huddersfield is now confirmed as an 8 o'clock kick off.

First thing I look at. I was trying to work it out from the proximity of the dates but gave up until I came on here and saw you’d done it, much appreciated.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 9:59 amSomeone texted me with the same comment, makes it easier having the days on.

Is this the first time we have had the league fixtures released before the pre season games were announced ?

Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
It's about getting home for some people.
One train back to Bradford, which changes at Hebden Bridge. Only a 7 minute gap, so if they hold the train up, like they have at past Preston fixtures to get all Burnley fans out the city, then stuck in Hebden Bridge.
Will we even sell 6k on a Tuesday night?

Preston away - midweek so can't attend
Preston home - week before Valentine's Day so I shall be working
Blackburn away - Mother's Day weekend so I shall be working
Really disappointing dates from my own selfish point of view

Be quite a way into the season at that point so quite a few will depend on how we are doing.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 10:06 amIt's about getting home for some people.

Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
All those extra games, and me with an OAP season ticket. What great value for money.
Early retirement means I can attend a lot more away fixtures this season, so no better league to be in than the Championship.
P.S. I won't be going to Swansea.......

Middlesbrough looks as though it's Good Friday, in which case it could well be a 3pm kickoff.

Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
Start looks a bit sticky with a run of tough games but if we start well that will be extremely positive for our chances. Derby day ahead of a month off for the World Cup will be horrendous if we get beat (but great to bask in it for a while if we win). Obviously it balances out but in March-April we have seven away games and four at home, with two of the aways derbies. We'd probably rather it was reversed for the run-in.
Exciting times.

It's so wrong seeing a fixture in July.

Very considerate of them to give us the last game of the season at home in order
to celebrate promotion back to the land of milk and money.

Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
There are some horror trips on New Year's Day this season.
Swansea v Burnley
Blackburn v Cardiff
Huddersfield v Luton
Millwall v Rotherham
QPR v Sheff Utd
I thought the fixture planning included making games around Bank Holidays, such as New Year, not long travel distances?

Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
Train booked bargain price of £10.10 each way, last train from Hudds 22.26 so plenty of time to get that.
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
My mother has a home game on her 90th birthday. That solves the problem of where to take her out!
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
How’ve they managed to cock up the festive fixtures so badly for so many teams?

I wouldn't say plenty of time, ko is 8 so game will end around 9:50 without loads of added on extra time, a 25 minute walk to station gives you about 10 minutes spare, plus remember Friday is train operators strike day

10 minutes to spare if the train is on time, it won't be plus there are 2 further which get us to Piccadilly if worse came to the worse

7 games more or less in August, brilliant better than the stop start of the premier league
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
I was going to go on the train or Accy clarets but I'm driving to Huddersfield with my son, his wife's baby is due around the same day it's my first grandchild so we might have to shoot off (after the game ) if she goes into labour, if you miss the train and you need a lift back give us a heads up on here
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
Rovers at home the last game before the long World Cup break. Be nice to go into the break with a win!
Re: ARTICLE: Friday night kick off for the Clarets on Sky
Not only that....we need 50 in the Championship!

Bonkers isn't it, and surely it shouldn't be behind the wit of the EFL to take into account the fans for once, and adjust the schedule accordingly.claretburns wrote: ↑Thu Jun 23, 2022 11:05 amThere are some horror trips on New Year's Day this season.

All I wanted was an away fixture on the opening day so I'm satisfied.
