What's the allocation and do people think we will sell it out?
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Heads up for any clarets driving to Shrewsbury for this match. Best parking is just down the road from the ground 5 minutes walk away Pritchards Van Hire. Postcode SY3 7QZ. Costs a fiver. After you have parked if you want a beer there are two options, there is a pub just over the road The Brooklands. Or for the more discerning craft beer drinkers there is an excellent little craft beer tap right next to Pritchards van hire called RAD beer. For the non drivers they serve an excellent range of craft beers and German pils and welcome well behaved visiting supporters.

I'm on the train. How long will it take to get back to the station after the game. ThanksJamesy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 9:11 pmHeads up for any clarets driving to Shrewsbury for this match. Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Train station is around two miles walk from the ground. Would take you approx 40 mins to walk it. Sadly the last bus to town from bus stop closest to ground leaves at 20:45 so you won’t make that. Presume you are going to Manchester Piccadilly?
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Thanks for that. I'll have to get a wriggle on. Going back to Birmingham .
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
You will be fine for Brum. Time for a cheeky pint in town also before your train comes in!

Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Longsider : there's not that many taxis in shrewsbury , but if you book early use 01743 242424 ( most reliable) .When i say early , i mean by Wednesday . When you arrive at Shrewsbury , there's a taxi company across the road called " now " . Don't use the taxis on the rank , they'll rip you off .
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Even then he would struggle. Taxis are so hit and miss in Shrewsbury. Especially Friday tea time when no traffic moves in Shrewsbury. Shank’s pony is more reliable.expoultryboy wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 8:58 pmLongsider : there's not that many taxis in shrewsbury , but if you book early use 01743 242424 ( most reliable) .When i say early , i mean by Wednesday . Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
I’m near Castlefields pal. Do you travel up to matches regularly?
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
It’s ironic really. First time we have played Shrewsbury in ages and I am away on holiday with my wife and will miss it! My three kids and daughters boyfriend will be going on though.

Away games more than home , usually by train with my son (29) . We'll have to meet up for a pint in the telegraph or the wheatsheaf when the clarets are on .

Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Thanks for this Jamesy - will they be operating that car park for this friendly do you know (just wondering with it being a low key pre season game)?Jamesy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 9:11 pmHeads up for any clarets driving to Shrewsbury for this match. Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
99% sure it will be open but will check tomorrow. I’m in Cyprus at present but I know someone who works next door to Pritchards. Will report back when I know.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 4:49 pmThanks for this Jamesy - will they be operating that car park for this friendly do you know (just wondering with it being a low key pre season game)?
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Good idea. I will message you on here. I live on Beddow Close just up from Castlefields and 3 minutes walk from Telegraph. Mind you Wheatsheaf is better for the cask beer.expoultryboy wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 4:46 pmAway games more than home , usually by train with my son (29) . You are welcome. I’ve just texted him and he will check with them in the morning.
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
He’s just got back to me. He was speaking to them on Friday and they are definitely putting the parking on for Friday’s game as they are expecting a decent turnout.

No , that's from the poultry club in Nelson . I used to live in ludlow and work in craven arms for nightingales on the long lane estate .
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Good stuff, look forward to maybe having a few beers with you this coming season possibly during a televised game that is too tricky to get to. Any more going? Had thought this one would attract a lot of interest as our only attendable preseason friendly?

Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
What route are people taking? Not the easiest place to get to? The motorway way seems a long way round.
Considering getting off the M6 near Stoke and heading down the A53 past Market Drayton as it seems a little more direct.

Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
Is it all ticket or can you pay on the day in the home end? I'll decide on the day if I'm going and hope to just pay in the home end.
Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
You have to have a Shrewsbury membership no to buy a ticket on the day for league games. If 50/50 about going it may be worth registering for a membership number? Just in case?
I think there will be well over 500 clarets there. Four from my family are going.

But that may change on the day if the Sat Nav advises. Last minute dash for me, leaving Clitheroe at 4pm, so I'm hoping the traffic Gods are in a good mood!

Re: Shrewsbury Tickets
For the good drivers the route is M6, M56 then the A49 that takes you right into Shrewsbury.
The A49 is a great road to drive if you know how to handle your car and are a good driver
