Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
I tried to purchase a ticket for the Huddersfield game today at the ticket office. 1st day on sale. I am a Clarets Foundation member of a couple of years and I was led to believe by the ticket office that Foundation members would get priority on purchasing match tickets. But I'm not sure after looking at the club web site when they are able to apply and what process that entails.
So I thought (rightly or wrongly) that I could go to the ticket office today and purchase my ticket as a Foundation member. I turned up this lunchtime (very quiet it must be said) and went into the ticket office (staff were few and far between). Anyway I spoke to someone, not a supervisor or manager it must be said and they told me that I had to ring the ticket office up to purchase my ticket instead of calling in to the ticket office and purchase in person. Is this normal? I have not heard of this before?
So early afternoon, I rang up the ticket office number, nobody answered and I had to leave a message for someone to call me up. I'm still waiting for someone to call me back.
I'm going to try again tomorrow and call in at the ticket office. Hopefully my experience of purchasing an away match ticket will be a different one compared to today.
But I have a couple of questions.
Are Clarets Foundation members prioritised at all on being able to purchase tickets? I received a letter from the club the other week outlining what a Foundation member is able to access. No clear guidance on the club website.
Why cannot you purchase a ticket from the ticket office? Unless the person I was talking to was giving me incorrect info.
Leaving a message on a ticket office number requesting someone to call me back doesn't give me confidence now that this will happen.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. Will try again tomorrow.

Clarets Foundation members getting priority stopped year's ago
Re: Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
Well the letter I received in the post on Clarets Foundation membership needs to be rethought.
In the letter it says 'Priority match ticket ordering service', what does that mean?

You need to phone the Foundation direct, not the ticket office.

When I was in the foundation which was over 10 years ago now, you had to ring up the foundation and order through them, not through the ticket office.
If they have stopped foundation members getting away tickets then priority match tickets could mean just for home games.

Letter sent on 23rd June. To be honest, I would have expected something with a bit more substance to it. Will try again tomorrow. Not sure if the Foundation has a designated office at the club. Given how quick tickets are selling, better get in touch with them ASAP.

Foundation had a limited allocation of away tickets last season. I don't know the number. I do know that some games the allocation was gone very quickly.leelad wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 8:37 pmLetter sent on 23rd June. I got the letter re Foundation Bar closing last week and other changes. I didn't see any mention about away tickets.
Good luck.

You have to contact the Foundation/Lottery office to obtain your ticket. 700023 is the phone number.

Genuinely I was told there is no voicemail after I complained about leaving voicemails and not getting a reply. Granted that was about 2 years ago but they were absolutely adamant there was no voicemail system.
So short answer don't await a call back, try again.

There were only two reasons to be in the foundation. The bar and gettin some extra away tickets.
The bar has gone and now priority tickets gone. Time to cancel my DD.

As a foundation member I was able to purchase 2 tickets via phone call to ticket office, I have 4000+ points so clearly would not have got them had I not been foundation member, I have recently rec'd a letter explaining the foundation bar is no longer available this season as the club are targeting the hospitality section, the main reason I joined was to get priority tickets, however when I got the letter my first thought was to sack it off but in view of how quickly the Huddersfield tickets have gone maybe it's a mistake, and I should carry on with the membership. The club are offering a discount in the fanzone as a replacement.

20% discount on all drinks
Re: Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
So someone can have a season ticket for the past 17 year's but can't apply for a ticket until it drops to 4k points and miss out to someone who's been a £2 per week foundation member for a day......something very wrong with thatalwaysaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jul 07, 2022 12:28 pmAs a foundation member I was able to purchase 2 tickets via phone call to ticket office, I have 4000+ points so clearly would not have got them had I not been foundation member, I have recently rec'd a letter explaining the foundation bar is no longer available this season as the club are targeting the hospitality section, the main reason I joined was to get priority tickets, however when I got the letter my first thought was to sack it off but in view of how quickly the Huddersfield tickets have gone maybe it's a mistake, and I should carry on with the membership. I think that Foundation members only had access to a very limited number of tickets. Although I've never seen the Club give an actual number.

Re: Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
I was born in 58,I'll let you do the math's, I've gone on the turf for 50 years on and off, the off's related to work, playing myself, and because of injuries. But I've been a season ticket holder for at least the last 10 years, like many on here s**t happens and for whatever reasons the club loses your points, there was also a long period I wasn't even aware there was a points system, for a couple of seasons I had a break in season ticket because of illness and again the club couldn't find the points I'd built up and I didn't know my clarets number which made it difficult, but my point being I've as much right as the next to go to an away game. However I find myself in the unfortunate position I wouldn't have got a ticket for this game had I not been a foundation member. So understand where your coming from but whatever system they have someone will always be unhappy.

Re: Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
Not 100% on it but I believe that figure to be around 200, consequently you need to be on to the foundation office at 9am on first day of sale and it's obviously first come first served basis, when there gone there gone.
Re: Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
A system that let's someone who's been a foundation member for a single day jump the queue over a season ticket holder for 17 is wrong

100% agree in that context. However if the facility is there people will use it. But you'll understand from my explanation I have every right.

Re: Ticket office issues - Huddersfield game
Let's be honest, the system is built around making the club money rather than loyalty.
If it was loyalty, the long away games on a Tuesday night would get you 50 points, but away ticket sales don't make the club money.
That's why you get 350 points for a ST when you attend a max of 23.
The foundation makes the club extra money and most will be ST holders as well.
The club aren't bothered which 2300 fans go away but they will try and maximise revenue from it.
