Muric 7 takeout the penalty decision and he was faultless, commanding, made a few excellent saves, spilt nothing and used the ball much better.
Vitinho 8 excellent
THB 7
Taylor 7 shaky 10 minute spell at the end of the first half aside, did fine.
Roberts 8 very good today, scapegoat for many because he's playing a different role. Defensively very good today.
Cork 8
Cullen 8
Brownhill 10 two incredible finishes, I thought he'd be good at this level but VK has taken his game to a new stratosphere. A goalscoring number 10? didn't look capable of that under Dyche.
JBG 6 quiet
Tella 7 worked hard, lethal finisher.
Jrod 7 did fine, worked hard, a little quiet but used the ball well when involved.

Churlinov 7 direct, beats a man, looks a very good addition to me.

Muric 7 - pen aside I thought he was excellent, distribution much better and did everything else well, there’s a decent keeper there let’s get behind him

Roberts 8 - criticism of him this season been unwarranted IMO, used the ball well today and was the pick of the defenders

THB 6 - him and Taylor didn’t deal well enough with them at times and his passing wasn’t as good as it has been

Taylor 6 - unconvincing is the best word for him at CB, still not sure

Vitinho 8 - much better at wing back than on the right wing, square pegs in square holes today, excellent for our first two goals

Cork 9 - quality throughout tbh

Cullen 8 - good, always shows for it and works very hard

JBG 6 - bit quiet but good to see him back, probably should have had a pen looked a clear trip

Brownhill 9* - 2 goals and an assist, he’s a massive asset for us this season, must keep

Tella 7 - really well taken goal, Saints fans complained about his end product so I’ve been pleasantly surprised to see him be so clinical, pace scared them first half but perhaps was a bit weak at times

Jay 8 - will score 15+ in this league, classy player and underrated technically

Churlinov 7 - really like the look of him, determined, direct and turn of pace

Fantastic win, first 35 and almost the entire 2nd half were excellent

Interesting to see us give up more possession today. I’ve posted on here recently that Kompany’s Anderlecht averaged 56% possession last season so I think we’ve probably had more possession than perhaps his style actually is so far, but not today.

Muric- 7. Penalty mistake was shocking but two goals came from long balls from him and he made a really good save to tip one over at 3-1. Still far from confident in him but probably his best game even with the penalty.

Roberts-6. Just isn't impressing like I'd hoped. Would probably swap him for Vitinho when Maatsen is fit.
THB- 8. Very solid, some good play from back, couple errant balls but nothing major.
Taylor- 7. He's still struggling to adapt but he's a man out of position still learning, possibly out of position for the ball leading to the pen but again he's still learning the role.
Vitinho-8. Two assists, couple more good balls, got a trick in him. Think we've got a gem especially with his versatility.
Cork-7. A couple errant balls but generally steady, bit more forward thinking.
Cullen -7. Similar, ticks us over.
Gudmundsson -7. Lively, couple good balls across the box, still regaining sharpness but showed that he can still be a big player this season.
Brownhill-9 MOM. Vitinho was my MOM until his second goal, outstanding skill to cut in. He looks an all new player.
Tella- 8. Gave them no end of problems with his movement, good outlet for long balls. Got roughed up and bullied as it went on so sub was smart to protect him.
Jay-8. Super Jay of old. Dropped deep so many times to receive midfield balls from Muric, linked well, had one brilliant bit of play for Benson.

Subs:
Churlinov-7. Couple of efforts, one weak one off target, didn't do a ton but kept our energy levels up and stretched Wigan.
Bastien-7. Brilliant cameo performance, been saying he can be very good for us and showed it here. Goal and assist in 15 minutes isn't bad.
Barnes- 5. Didn't really get involved much, did his usual to moderate effect. Really think we should be giving Costelloe the spot.

Muric 7 - Partly to blame for the penalty but had a lot to do and dealt with it well.
Roberts 7 - Good. One pass about half way through the 2nd half to left wing was sublime (not convinced it was intentional)
Harwood-Bellis 8 - I like him. Wins far more than he loses. Occasionally gets caught the wrong side but deals with it.
Taylor 7 - Not perfect but plenty good enough. Occasionally very good.
Vitinho 8 - Patchy spell just before HT but a great move and cross for Josh. Very good after HT.
Cork 8 - A Rolls Royce. Pivotal.
Cullen 8 - A lesser Cork.
Brownhill 9 - Brilliant! Capped with a couple of well taken goals.
Gudmundson 7 - Steady but not quite up to full speed.
Tella 8 - Worked hard and a great finish.
Rodriguez 8 - Looked a very classy striker, today. A couple of great flick-ons and scored a goal.

Subs
Churlinov 7 - Looks capable of running at defences. A decent attempt went wide.
Barnes na - I thought he did well when he came on. 2 excellent layoffs to maintain possession. One sloppy pass.
Bastien na - nicely taken goal.
Benson na
Egan Riley na

Only one defeat in the opening 6. Much better football than we've seen for most of the last decade. We will have the odd nightmare and I am still desperate for a bit more height. We are in the playoffs, as it stands, and I'd be happy if we're around here during the course of the season.

Aren't Saturday nights great when we win and look forward to football on the TV? Enjoy the ride. Encourage the team. Be positive. No need to single out scapegoats - Muric getting 5 is not a fair reflection of what he did. UTC.

Muric 6 -1 for another potential game changing error
Roberts 7
Vitinho 9 excellent in thst first half, couple of assists
Taylor 6 like the gut but exposed with the long ball, and again almost a silly error leading to a goal... hook it out, not inside
THB 7
Cork 8
Cullen 8
Brownhill 9* absolutely tremendous, fully deserved his MOTM
Tella 7 always a threat on the shoulder
Gudmundsson 7 steady from JBG, happy he did well, match sharpness will come, a couple if nearlys, and looked a pen to me
Rodriguez 8 so nearly a 9, a very intelligent footballer, and suits this system well, can do both sides of it, shame he's not 2 years younger and half a yard faster as he wouod get 25+ in this side and would be leading the line sll season long.

A great away day, i though we could have been out of site in the first half, and thankfully the error whilst cruising didn't cost us again. Wigan had a good 10 minutes.

We do look susceptible to the long punt to big strong forwards ( Hull and again Today costing us goals ) I think we do need a commanding CB, as Taylor is ok but will end up costing us points in the long run, especially as he will get exposed by the LB bombing on.

Muric 7 much better decision making today mixed long and short balls up, at fault for penalty but best game yet for us
Roberts 7 - solid enough
THB 8 - reminds me of Steve Davi’s in how he brings ball out from back
Taylor 6
Vitinho 8. - best game for us yet
Cullen 8 - doubled up as left back 2nd halve wish supported Vitinho game
Cork 8 - effortless this lge for him
Brownhill 9 - real engine on him and now playing his favourite position , improves each game
Tella 9. - has real pace and will be a big threat this year
JBG 7 - good return for him
Rodriguez 8 - really helped the front line gel and VK gave him 75 mins today so he’s getting fitter

Churlinov 7 - couple of moments still adapting to game
Barnes - 6 its Barnes
Bastion - 8 really impactful last ten minutes,

Pleased how they came back from the last ten minutes of first halve when half time couldn’t come quick enough and it looked like Blackpool all over again important mindset for the team to overcome achieved. You can see progress and the in game thinking and game management is coming on

Muric 6 daft penalty, but the play that made his challenge necessary was just as bad
Roberts 7 looked ok, partnered JBG better than the other RWs we've used
THB 7 carried the ball out well 2nd half, but let his man get goal side of him several times, and his passing was hit and miss
Taylor 6 I know people keep saying he's out of position, but it doesn't excuse his passing, or some of his decision making.
Vitinho 9 mom, a far better defender than Maatsen, and contributed going forward, looked a natural there
JGB 8 the game seemed to bypass him as we concentrated down the left, but he did nothing wrong, and what little he did was good
Cullen 7 played a lot more on the left today with Jack controlling the middle, lots of good stuff, but a few sloppy ones too 1st half
Cork 8 steady as ever
Brownhill 9 just gets better and better, it's like he's been let of the leash and he loves it.
JRod 7 scored a good goal, and did fine, but we still need someone quicker up there.
Tella 8 great game, and showed what could be achieved with a quicker CF

Churlinov 7 looked keen to get on the score sheet, with a couple of early strikes at goal. confident he will get better.

watch it 5 times then and try spotting the complete lack of effort from Taylor - he's hardly breaks into a jog. The footage doesn't lie. He did ok over all but that was **** poor from him

Superb performance. Dominant and incisive football and bar the spell when they scored until half time we dominated the game. Good away day!

Muric 7 - big mistake for the penalty (which admittedly may have changed the course of the game on another day), but otherwise his best game for us. Distribution much, much better, command of his area, and an excellent save from their header second half. Brilliant to see the encouragement from the away fans in the second half.

Roberts 7 - solid game

Harwood-Bellis 6 - thought he was a little below his usual standard today. Some really good ball carries, but one seriously dodgy pass which could have been real danger

Taylor 6 - was targeted with long balls into his area and he didn't always deal with them convincingly. Still looking for a proper CB

Vitinho 8 - brilliant. Excellent work to set up our first two, contributed well to our possession in the second half, and some good 1v1 defending too.

Cork 8 - classy as ever

Cullen 7 - good game. Regularly popping up in the left back position but it seemed to work. Helped us up our tempo to come through a difficult spell in the first 5 mins of the second half.

Gudmundsson 7 - good first game back.

Brownhill 9 - a proper number 10 now. Outstanding game.

Tella 8 - adds such a threat with his pace and sharp finishing.

Rodriguez 8 - just about the best player for us in that forward position. Hope he stays fit all season.

Churlinov 6 - fantastic to suddenly have some great options in the forward areas.

What a brilliant away day. We're suddenly ruthless in front of goal. I love the willingness to be much more direct mixed with periods of calm possession play.

The obvious caveat to this is that Wigan are a league one team but you can only beat what's in front of you and this was comfortably done. Great to see us keep going and keep putting the goals in as it's the sort of game we've become accustomed to shutting up shop at 2 nil, rather than really killing things off. Not a criticism, just good to see.

Muric - 7 the penalty is just one of those things but other than that his claiming and punching was sound, his distribution was very good and the saves he made were all routine.

Roberts - 7 best of the season so far from him

Harwood-Bellis - 8 class act is this guy, got the wrong side a couple of times but recovered, but he can't half pick a pass.

Taylor - 6 seemed to dither and lost his man for the pen. Fine otherwise but you'd think we're still after a proper centre half.

Vitinho - 8 definitely Brazilian on today's showing. Relaxed a bit too much at the start of the second half but refocused. Megs on Darikwa was nice.

Cork - 7 bossed midfield with ease

Cullen - 7 all over the gaff today and always positive with it

Gudmundsson - 7 great to see him back and he showed that when he's fit, he'll be a big player for us. Looked like a pen from the other end.

Brownhill - 9 two lovely goals and an assist. The ideal return from an attacking midfielder.

Tella - 7 a bit weak at times and he threw a couple of obvious dives in but his movement playing on the last man is terrifying for defenders. He needs more balls to him like THB's last week rather than straight and high. Early days but he should be another big player this season.

Rodriguez - 8 absolutely superb. Anyone with a clue knew how good he'd be at this level. Just have to hope we can keep him fit.

Churlinov - 6 early days but he's got the Glen Little lollop and he's clearly not lacking confidence.

Top stuff. We're what, 6 games in? Obviously we'll face much tougher opposition but you get the feeling there's plenty more to come from this team.

Wigan were unbeaten this season so calling them a League 1 team is slightly disrespectful!

Muric 7 poor decision to come out and as mentioned earlier, the pen gave Wigan a foothold. Otherwise did well.
Vitinho 8
HB 8
Taylor 7 - quick word for Taylor here…. Many are unconvinced with him in this role but for me he ain’t put a foot wrong so far. Only thing he’s been guilty of in there is NOT being Ben Mee. Steady again today
Roberts 7
Cullen 9 like a busy bee
Cork 9 immense again.
Brownhill 10. He really was out of this world.
JBG 7
Tella 8
Jay 8

Fantastic team performance and it’s been coming.
