Extinction Rebellion
Got into the Commons chamber at Westminster and glued themselves around the Speakers chair. (BBC)
Re: Extinction Rebellion
Presumably to protest against any package of assistance that helps people keep the power on?
You have to wonder who's running HofC security to let this happen.
Still, parliament isn't sitting, so there's no urgency. Send them a food parcel and sort it out on Monday morning. The new PM will be in Scotland so they needn't rush.

Oh ffs , I’m suprised there’s not an armed police presence in the HOC. They should be dealt with severely .

Time they just started pulling them off whatever they’ve glued themselves too. If they get hurt in the process then so be it.

No need to rush on this one. When they're on the M^, they're in the way. Who really cares if it takes a week or two to get them out of there?

Re: Extinction Rebellion
Leave them there under armed watch until they beg to be extracted, short custodial sentence to be served at the furthest Prison away from their home address in England. On release, get 75 volunteers to block every road on their route home ... it should take them about 3 weeks to get home, a taste of their own medicine ....

Smashing up motorway service station pumps the other week. Drivers having to make detours, and adding more miles to their journeys in order to fill up. These people really are a bunch of tossers.

Should she just shoot them, or deport them to Rwanda?

They aren't anarchists at all. They received £3 million in funding last year. They were meant to be there. Everything that goes on in the HOC is just theatre.

It implies they've been funded by the tax payer - patently untrue. Funding is from supporters, but pretty sure this will fall off.

One of them (in the chamber) is holding a "let the people decide" poster.
If the people decided (we had a plebiscite), I think they'd all get a good kicking then thrown in prison as recompense for the trouble they are causing. They have nil self awareness at all.

Think about it. Millions marched against lockdowns with no coverage at all on mainstream media. Why are 3 'anarchists ' in the HOC all over the MSM? It fits the current climate agenda.

Re: Extinction Rebellion
I never place a link. People shouldn’t have to. It is incumbent on the unbeliever or doubter to look it up for themselves. If I post on here and people don’t trust or believe me that’s their problem not mine. It’s a football forum not a thesis.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 1:04 pmI just wish people would put links up when they say stuff like this

In September 2021, YouGov asked 3,296 British adults for their opinions on Extinction Rebellion, of which 19% were "very positive" or "fairly positive", and 49% were "fairly negative" or "very negative.
19 v 49 and it will have got worse for XR since that date as they've continued to cheese people off with their self-absorbed antics.

Your problem here is you still listen/watch mainstream media.
I haven't taken any notice of News outlets since Brexit, when it should have been patently obvious to everybody. that all media streams are self publicising, self interested, self opinionated parasites.
I'll say again, they should report the FACTS, and leave everyone to make their OWN mind up. Until then turn it off.

Re: Extinction Rebellion
I'm all for peaceful protest, but these XR people do more harm than good. They lost loads of support when they started blocking citizens from going about their lawful business by blocking roads. Even frontline workers and our emergency services were caught up in the traffic jams they caused. Same when they blocked off parts of Manchester city centre a couple of years ago - also loads of businesses took a hit. They certainly don't endear people towards them.
The group is also full of 'do as I say, not as I do' hypocrites.

They should pay for any damage done to the furniture and, if they soil the carpets before Monday morning, pay for those too. Oh, and they will then have to change their name to Excretion Rebellion.

In some ways, they have a point. Nothing's gonna change with a new PM.
Well actually things could get worse, which I suppose is a change.

You are right but the default position is that if you can’t back it up you are just making it up. People then just ignore what you say presuming you are a troll or a liar (or both).

On one hand I admire them for taking direct action for a worthy cause, on the other hand their road blocking stunts won’t win them any support from the public.
Gluing yourself to the HOC is rad though.

Shame it wasn't one percent less then we could have ignored it completely
For the record, they are absolutely right with what they believe in, but they really do need to do more stuff like this, and less blocking normal people going about their normal lives

Cassandra found that speaking truth and never being believed was her problem. (Admittedly it was a problem for the rest of the Trojans as well.) But she was ignored whenever she spoke, and it wasn't comfortable.
