Josh Brownhill
Josh Brownhill
If I've missed it I apologise but I can't see a specific thread about Josh Brownhill. He will have been spoken about on other threads.
Now, I'm pretty cynical and we all know how certain agents operate so things may have changed we are unaware of concerning to Josh's relationship with the club BUT I feared he'd be no longer a Burnley today. There would seem to have been genuine interest from PL clubs.
In essence, he could have pushed for a move but his recent comments seem to be sincere ie he's very happy at TM. Whilst I doubt very much he'll end up with 25 goals come the end of the season (4 in 7 extrapolated), I also doubt he'll not score only another goal or two.
He ended last season pretty well and is on a roll this one. He does seem to "get" Burnley and that is something we all love (I think we all do). With the departures of a raft of players who "got" Burnley we need new ones and Josh is clearly one of them.

Re: Josh Brownhill
I think Brownhill wanted to go back to the Prem and had is agent trying to find him a club but there were no takers so he's ours until at least Jan

Not one of his better games tonight
We needed Benny not Barnes to seal the win

He’s having a good season Brownhill. But why would anyone go for him?Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:19 pmI think Brownhill wanted to go back to the Prem and had is agent trying to find him a club but there were no takers so he's ours until at least Jan
He’s going to cost a lot and to be brutally honest I don’t think he starts for anyone in the prem

Top 10 PL clubs came in for him yesterday.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 10:22 pmHe’s having a good season Brownhill. But why would anyone go for him?

Re: Josh Brownhill
From the "I think" I'm assuming you've just come to that conclusion because he had a below par performance (for the first time this season), bearing in mind most of the team had a below par performance as well.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Fri Sep 02, 2022 7:19 pmI think Brownhill wanted to go back to the Prem and had is agent trying to find him a club but there were no takers so he's ours until at least Jan
Give it a rest, pal.

Re: Josh Brownhill
I thought Josh wasn't at his best against Millwall and put that down to the transfer window rumours, although he was certainly below par last night as were the majority
Re: Josh Brownhill
Kompany said this after the game
“We had to sell Collins, Pope, McNeil, Cornet…for me now, after that we didn’t have to sell those players, so we were in a big strong position for me to turn down bids for Brownhill and Charlie Taylor."
So that suggests there were bids for him.
Andy Jones (reliable) said there was top 10 PL interest on deadline day and Graeme Bailey (semi reliable) also said we’d received interest but issued a not for sale warning.

Re: Josh Brownhill
More than likely just papertalk. If he was wanted by prem clubs he would be in the prem.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 9:10 amKompany said this after the game

The evidence to the contrary would suggest otherwise.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 9:27 amMore than likely just papertalk. If he was wanted by prem clubs he would be in the prem.
That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to return to the Premier League. It’s quite plausible that he was willing to give it a season and assess after that.

Re: Josh Brownhill
People can believe what they want. I am 100% confident that no one even bid for him.

So a quote from the manager is now "papertalk"

Re: Josh Brownhill
It's great to see that he's making a contribution after the shaky start that he got off to this season.
If any premier League clubs did come in for Josh, he'd no longer be a Claret, it's obvious that it was his agent making all the noises.
I'm glad that he's still with us, but he must stop taking free kicks.

A bit of humility wouldn’t go amiss once in a while, Newcastle.
