India still in this just about, but they need a couple of big shots soon.

90,000 at the MCG, amazing crowd considering Australia aren't playing.

Riveting watch and a wicket with the first ball of the last over which will probably be enough for Pakistan to win it, particularly if the keep Kohli off strike. Interesting last 5 balls to come!

Brilliant last over, but Pakistan really blew that.
Needed some bottle from the bowler, and he lost it.

India win and I don't quite know how, Pakistan will no doubt be wondering the same.

Brilliant knock by Kohli when all seemed lost.

A 10 ball last over with no balls, free hits, one of which resulted in Kohli being bowled but then running three byes because he was not out, a wide on what should have been the last ball -----wow!
Pakistan snatched defeat from the jaws of victory! Kohli show his genius.
I love Test cricket, however, that was a smashing game to watch.

After yesterday's no result due to rain hopefully today's game will play out to a finish.

Australia really need to beat Sri Lanka otherwise they'll likely be facing tumbling out of their home tournament at the group stage.

SL post 157-6 after taking 20 off the last over, doubt it'll be enough but an early wicket or two and who knows.

Yeah- Oz should win this - especially as one of the Sri Lankan bowlers (Fernando) had had to leave the field during his first over. SL's already depleted attack now weakened further and there's plenty of batting in the Oz line up to chase a modest score.

You never can tell in sport but Oz players will take some stick if they don't get the win here.

You'd still expect Oz to win but SL aren't making it easy for them, and even if they do win Australia will struggle to improve their RR very much.

Shame for Sri Lanka that their quicks keep dropping like flies, and they'll do well to make the last 4 given all their injuries to key bowlers.

New Zealand with a massive opportunity to take control of the group now. Australia on Friday could be a proper shootout for who goes through.

Possible that neither Australia or England will make the last 4, but this victory for Ireland shouldn't be that much of a shock they've beaten England quite often in the white ball formats over recent encounters.

Easy win for South Africa in the early game, and India looking favs to beat Netherlands having posted 179-2, Kohli again imperious alongside Suryakumar.

Stunning climax in the Pakistan-Zimbabwe game, Zimbabwe win by 1 run as Pakistan suffer another last gasp defeat.

Still a lot of cricket to play, but the last 4 might not be what you'd expect at this rate.

That was quite a funny ending needing 4 from 4 balls with 4 wickets left and still ballsing it up with 2 run outs

Pakistan assuming they don't make the semi-finals will be kicking themselves at blowing golden opportunities against India and Zimbabwe.

Yes but in the shorter formats the gap is narrowing between the established nations and those emerging nations.

Upsets are good for any tournament keeps it interesting if results are unpredictable.

Oz at this time of the year is very wet. I lived in Melbourne and October was my least favourite month of the year. Seems odd why it’s been held now.

NZ on the verge of beating Sri Lanka and pretty much nailing down their SF place.

Strange NZ innings one guy scored a ton yet the next highest knock was 22.

A win for Bangladesh in the early game and another thriller as they beat Zimbabwe by 3 runs.

Netherlands struggling to muster a score against Pakistan 61-4 in the 15th.

India-South Africa a real heavyweight clash to round the day off.

And both groups look like going right to the wire regarding qualification although rain has definitely played a role in that.

Blimey! India 60-5 after 10 and they choose to bat, mind you given how potent India's pace attack is if they can post any kind of total I wouldn't rule them out yet.

Yep- every chance it goes to the last over.
SA looking favourites now (95-3 after 15) but a wicket or two soon would change that.

SA should get home easily enough now after that pair of sixes.

And they have rather gone under the radar but they are a dangerous side in all forms of the game.
