Pinched from the QPR website -
Parking - there is a very limited street parking around the stadium, so please check before leaving your vehicle as the surrounding areas are controlled by pay and display or permit holder only restrictions.
It is recommended to use the recommended car park, on Eyre Street, parking costs just £5 per vehicle.
SAT NAV: S2 4SU
Public Transport
Sheffield train station is only a short ten-minute walk from Bramall Lane, whilst the ground is also approximately a 15-minute walk from the city centre bus station.
Alternatively, there are plenty of taxi’s available from the stations.
You could also travel by Tram, with Granville Road the nearest stop from the ground.
Pubs and Stadium Refreshments
In terms of pubs for visiting supporters, the Sheaf Island, Beer Engine Pub, Devonshire Car and The Globe are popular spots for away supporters.
However, heading towards the city centre, there are many pubs available.
Refreshments are also available at the stadium, with a range of alcoholic and soft drinks available. In addition to this, food including burgers, hot dogs as well as general snacks and drinks are available to buy in the away end concourse.

I'm unsure as to whether or not alcohol was being served on our last visit there.

Devonshire Cat is now shut for good - and most of the others open at 12pm. Just to be aware folks.
At the England U21 game they had Neck Oil in the Kop. Not sure about away end.

There was no beer being served at half time last visit.
The pub across from the train station was jammers with clarets last time. We were turned away before the game as there was no room inside.

Yeah, best away trip for those of us lucky enough to live in the People's Republic of South Yorkshire and get the train in. But I wouldn't fancy driving, parking round there. The Rutland Arms is good if you feel like leaving at half time again, don't think it will be open before the match.Top Claret wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 10:51 amParking was a nightmare last time unless you want to pay and sit in a car park for hours

For those wanting a decent pint and nice atmosphere, The Stag on Psalter Lane is a safe bet. It's easily walkable down to the ground too (go straight down cemetery Rd) if you wanted to park near the pub. Its free parking on the side streets off Psalter Lane and it's about a 10 min walk to the ground.

I didn't know either until I walked past at the weekendCrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 3:44 pmDidn’t know that so thanks for pointing out. If its like the Kelham Island one there will be great music but worse beer than the Cat had so no doubt some will like to pop in and not others.
Re: Sheff Utd info
Can’t beat the Sheffield Tap on the train station, best ale selection you’ll see anywhere.

There's no way I'll be parking on Eyre Street again after the last fiasco. Took an hour and a half to get off. May be better as it's a Sunday but my advice would be to park at the lower levels if you prefer parking there.

My apologies Barlick and any other Claret who may have got palpitations when I posted Sheff Utd being played on Sunday. It dawned on me late last night. I was getting confused (not difficult these days ) with the Rovers match. Anyhow it makes my point even stronger, Ayre Street car park on a Saturday afternoon is definitely a no no for me. Ideally situated for Bramall Lane but past experiences tell me to park elsewhere.

Re: Sheff Utd info
I know the trains look dodgy for this fixture but has anyone parked on Meadow hall shopping centre and got the 8 minute train into Sheffield?
With it being right next to the motorway looks like a quick getaway?

This is a good service. Get off at the main train station then its an easy 10 min walk to the ground.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 10:16 amI know the trains look dodgy for this fixture but has anyone parked on Meadow hall shopping centre and got the 8 minute train into Sheffield?

Re: Sheff Utd info
Forgot to say the tram runs from meadowhall to the main station. Takes a bit longer but gets you to the same place.
Re: Sheff Utd info
Not that I'm aware of. I used the service out towards meadowhall last week and it was all running fine.

The trains were also running fine last week though, it's next week when they are on strike again.
If the trams aren't affected by the rail strike then parking at Meadow Hall would definitely be an option.

Wasn't going to go but now the snake pass as re-opened I decided to give it a go as I like driving the pass it's good for opening the throttle and ones over taking skills

It looks like some trains are running between Skipton-Leeds-Sheffield on a reduced service. Not sure I'd really want to risk it like. Taken from the Northern rail website.

Re: Sheff Utd info
Was there yesterday for the rugby. We went to the Head of Steam near the Crucible before the game.
They were serving beer yesterday at Bramall Lane (I was sat in what is the away end for football), but it was Heineken out of cans, nothing on draft. Suspect it may have only been put on for the rugby.

Re: Sheff Utd info
They can't sell them to Home fans in that end, so no reason why they wouldn't have given us the rest of the full allocation above the original 2000 (so probably 800 or so).

Last time I went, I parked a little out in residential area (leafy) and caught bus straight to ground. Would have been quicker to walk back to the car than the bus station, as I did!

Taken from the Sheff Utd official website -
Pubs close to the ground tend to be for home fans only. About a ten minute walk away at the bottom of Eccleshall Road is a Wetherspoons Outlet called the ‘Sheaf Island’. This good sized pub tends to have a mix of home and away fans. Nearby behind the Waitrose supermarket is the Beer Engine pub on Cemetery Road. This pub offers up to six real ales and serves food too. Whilst a little further away on Wellington Street is the Devonshire Cat. This pub has around 12 hand pulled beers on offer, serves food, has a large screen tv, welcomes families (until 7pm) and is listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Although there are bouncers on the doors, away fans are allowed into the pub wearing colours. See the Devonshire Cat website for more details.
Near to the railway station is the Globe, which Simon a visiting Chelsea informs me: ‘I found that the Globe pub around a five minute walk from the station and a 15 minute walk from the ground welcomed home and away fans as long as there was no singing. The majority of fans there were Chelsea and the doors where policed 2 hours before the game but it was a nice friendly pub serving good ale’. Simon Cumming a visiting Barnsley fan recommends ‘The Howard which is a good pub for away fans. Service was very good and it’s well policed.’ This pub is also located near to the railway station, on Howard Street opposite. Whilst Dave Barraclough informs me; ‘In the station itself is the Sheffield Tap which serves real ales and is run by the Thornbridge Brewery (please note though that no football colours are allowed). Also worth a visit is the Rutland Arms on Brown Street. A real ale place only a few minutes from the train station and around a 15 minute walk then to Bramall Lane’. If walking down to the ground from the station along Shoreham Steet, then you will pass the recently opened Sentinel Brewing Company. This pub brews its own beer on site and offers a mixture of real ales, craft beers in a modern environment. It also offers food too.
The pubs near to the ground such as the ‘Sheaf House’, ‘Railway Hotel’, the ‘Golden Lion’ and ‘The Cricketers’ are for home fans only. Otherwise, alcohol is available inside the ground in the form of plastic 500ml bottles of Heineken (£4) or 330ml bottles of Bulmers Cider (£4) or Cans of John Smith’s (£4).
Directions and Car Parking
From The North
Leave the M1 at Junction 36 and follow the A61 into Sheffield. Follow the A61 into Sheffield passing Hillsborough Stadium on your right. Continue along the A61, which becomes the ring road around the western side of the city centre. You will eventually reach a roundabout at the junction with the A621. At the roundabout turn right onto the A621 Bramall Lane. The ground is a short way down on the left.
From The South
Leave M1 at Junction 33 and take the A630 into Sheffield City Centre. On reaching the inner ring road follow signs for A621 Bakewell, the ground is about a 1/4 of a mile the other side of the city centre. It is located on the A621 (Bramall Lane).
Car Parking
There is some street parking to be had in the area, but roads close to the ground are for residents only. Further along Bramall Lane itself (going away from the City Centre) is the Ant Marketing Building (S2 4RN) which offers matchday parking at a cost of £5. However, it is normally full 90 minutes before kick off.
Alternatively, if you want to avoid Sheffield City Centre, then you may find it easier to park at Meadowhall Railway Station, near to the well known Shopping Centre (unless of course it is in the run up to Christmas or the January sales, when the shopping centre is very busy), just by Junction 34 of the M1, where you can park for free. You can then take a yellow tram to the City Centre and then walk to the ground. The tram journey time is around 20 minutes and costs £4 return. Mark Needham adds; ‘it’s worth noting that if you are coming up from the South, that you can leave the M1 at Junction 29 (Chesterfield) and follow signs for Sheffield A61. This is particularly useful if the M1 is slow around J30, as it often is!’ There is also the option of renting a private driveway near Bramall Lane via YourParkingSpace.co.uk.

Sheffield Railway Station is located just under a mile away from Bramall Lane. It is around a 15 minute walk away. As you come out of the railway station, walk up the slope and cross over at the traffic lights, then turning to your left. Walk straight along Shoreham Street passing BBC Radio Sheffield and the University Engineering Centre on your right, until reaching the large traffic light junction and crossover. Turn up to the right along St Mary’s Road, past the Church to the next junction and turn left into Bramall Lane. The visiting supporters’ turnstiles are about 200 yards along this road on the left. Thanks to Sue Forbes for providing these directions.
