Muric 4 distribution horrendous, commanding of area zilch , and when that's the case it leaves his weakest part of his game ( saving goals and winning points )
Roberts 6
THB 6
Taylor 6
Vitinho 5 LB isn't his bag at all
Zourary 5
Cork 6
Cullen 6
Brownhill 6
Tella 5
Jay 5

I don't think we've seen us kick the ball out of plsy so much or pass it to the opposition, however saying that after our worst performance of the season we didn't lose.

Extreamely soft goal to give away after snatching sn undeserved goal.
We looked very jaded and off it tonight.
Birmingham looked far more fitter and stronger, and executed their gsme plan well.

From the club TV feed

Look, we never really got going, but still created the better chances in the first half, Jay hits the post and Vitinhio has to do better with that

Seemed to be a game set for a draw until JBG comes on and scores a great goal, and then we fail to react from a throw and concede a ridiculous goal when you are 1-0 up away from home, and then probably glad for the final whistle

Muric 5- no chance with the goal, but two really poor attempts to come for the ball and few wayward passes
Vitinhio 5 - not as good on this side at all, pretty ropey to be honest
THB 7 - great until he affected by the wobbles after the equalizer
Taylor 7 - as above
Roberts 7 - solid, looked to get forward a lot, especially first half
Cork 6 - missed him when he came off
Cullen 7* - neat and tidy
Brownhill 7 - as above
Zourary 6 - quiet, but when he ran at them he had them worried
Jay 6 - hit the bar but quiet
Tella 5 - never got going

Subs
JBG 7 - great goal but not much more than that

Birmingham did a good number on us to be fair, but we didn't lose, and that is a useful trait to have when you don't play well

Muric 5 - some good stuff, some really dodgy stuff
Roberts 7* - pick of the back 4 and should have had an assist with his nice first half pick out of Vitinho
THB 6 - shaky tonight and his passing was off
Taylor 5 - guilty of some sloppy passing and didn’t look assured
Vitinho 5 - don’t like him on the left really
Cork 6 - didn’t play well but probably missed him when he went off
Cullen 6 - battled but too many loose passes when switching play
Brownhill 6 - decent ball for Jay’s chance and was involved in other nice moves but doesn’t quite do it in that position
Zaroury 6 - some bright moments
Tella 5 - not at it
Jay 5 - poor link up throughout which is unlike him and part of our overall sloppiness

JBG 7 - lovely goal

While we weren't at our best, giving 4s and 5s galore is laughable.

Muric 6 - Nothing horrific. Nothing heroic.
Vitinho 6 - Not the same performance
THB 7 - Looked the part until we were conceding. Not his fault, mind.
Taylor 7 - Solid, again.
Roberts 6 -OK
Cork 6 - Maybe 7. Decent.
Cullen 7 - Usual tidy stuff.
Brownhill 6 - Decent enough. Covered ground and was mostly good.
Zourary 6 - Not as dangerous as Saturday but definitely needs to be watched. Harsh yellow.
Jay 6 - A little isolated.
Tella 6 - One of those games where he didn't offer much.

Subs
JBG 7 - Really well taken goal.

One of those nights where we weren't really ever convincing but weren't really looking terribly vulnerable either. Probably a fair result. Hopefully, we learn how to defend leads. Still only one defeat and we should be happy with how things are going.

From red button

Muric 7

Roberts 7
Harwood Bellis 6
Taylor 6
Da Silva 6

Cork 5
Cullen 5

Tella 5
Brownhill 6
Zaroury 6

Jay Rodriguez 6

JBG. 7*

A point from a poor performance against an improving Birmingham side away is a good point
However with 3 more tricky games coming up 3 draws would probably see us down around half way
It is a very open league but lots more games to come so hopefully some better performances to come

Not the finest performance but another point on the road keeps us ticking over nicely. Have to remember this team is still on a learning curve, part of which is learning how to handle teams raising their game against us. Means away games especially are going to be like cup ties because we're a big club and there to be shot at. Our most experienced players will be key because of this.

Muric 5 not great

Roberts 7 probably our best player, left with 2 to mark for their goal

Harwood-Bellis 5 bit off it tonight

Taylor 6 fine although easily beaten for their goal

Vitinho 5 if our left back is injured, play a left back at left back (yes I know Beyer was out also)

Cork 7 fine, missed him when he went off

Cullen 6 OK, gave the ball away a bit much

Brownhill 6 good/bad

Tella 5 not in it

Zaroury 6 slightly more in it than Tella

Rodriguez 6 unlucky with the flick onto the post and the cross that was just above him. Got the other header all wrong.

Gudmundsson 6 lovely goal

Games coming thick and fast is what you want but makes things difficult in terms of being at full strength. Yes it's not ideal keep giving leads away but also it's a good thing to not play well and not get beat.

This league is always going to be tight because whilst the teams are of less quality than the PL, they all know how to make things difficult and set up to be solid. Brum haven't lost for a while so a point there is fine for us.

JBG 7 inc 1 for well taken goal

We were not up to usual standards at all. Passing was off, we weren’t physical enough and game management needs work. They were a tough opponent but we have to get used to playing sides like this. Hopefully Maatsen and Beyer will be fit for Sat.

Just back-a game e should have nailed down as a win. The defence is being changed too much-good defences stay the same. Beyer needs to start as a CH, and Charlie needs to be the LB. Vitinho has lots of skills, but defending, challenging both on the floor and aerially are not these. I sensed a fear in the crowd and a lack of belief in the team that we cannot hold a lead and game manage a win

Muric-5. He is so indecisive at coming out for crosses and play in general
Roberts 7, defended well and made numerous runs tonight to advance forwards
THB 8, thought he played well with excellent distribution
Taylor 7, not comfortable at CH
Vitinho 6
Brownhill 6
Cullen 7
Cork 6
Tella 7, ran his legs off. Our major threat
Rodriguez6, disappointing performance. Ducked out of a lot of aerial duels, when he is our main front man
Zaroury 6,showed some great skills but gave the ball away, and I think their goal started from him faffing around with Vitinho
JBG-scored a great goal but offered little else. Too slow and one footed for this style of play

Warks, The changes to the defence were enforced.

Muric 5 - couple of real rash moments that he got away with
Roberts 6 - ok
Harwood-Bellis 5 - sloppy tonight
Taylor 6 - ok but not a centre back
Vitinho 6 - ok but not a left back
Brownhill 6 - industrious enough
Cullen 6 - as above
Cork 5 - looked off it
Tella 5 - not his night, they did a job
Rodriguez 6 - should’ve had a goal
Zaroury 6 - showed some decent moments, ultimately frustrated

Gudmundsson 7 - great goal

Another lead slips away, but you can tell they are bang at it at the moment and were strong on the press. Hannibal a pest all night but did a number on us. We looked a bit leggy and off it yet we still got the point against a form team who were up for it. Missed Beyer and Maatsen massively. Take the point and on to the next.

Muric 4 - I've supported and backed Muric all season long, not a bad word from me so far. Tonight he was awful though, flapped at every cross, distribution was woeful, a bag of nerves from the very start. He was half coming then running back to his line so much, really hesitant.

Vitinho 4 - we seem to concede from crosses everytime he's at left back, nowhere near as effective going forward on the left either.
Taylor 6
THB 6
Roberts 5

Cullen 6
Cork 5
Brownhill 4 meh, he's not a 10. His best work is probably deeper.

Zaroury 4 barely touched the ball.
Jay Rod 4 so deep, almost like he was playing in midfield, didn't give us an option at all.
Tella 5 tried things, not much came off mind.

Taylor 6
THB 6
Cullen 6
Cork 5
Brownhill 5
Zaroury 5
Jay 4
Tella 5
Gudmonson 7 well taken goal

Overall a fair point as they played like a Dyche team in our faces but I settled for a point before the match.

Muric 5 Never filled me with confidence, tonight he just re-enforced that opinion, poor in every department
Roberts 6 played ok but still think he`s to lightweight
THB 5 Poor distribution, seemed to opt for the wrong option, totally lost his man for their goal
Taylor 7 Thought he was steady away without being spectacular
Vitinho 5 A totally different performance from Saturday, created little and gave away possession from our throws
Cork 6 Quiet by his standards, was involved anywhere near as much as usual
Cullen 7 Always trying to make things happen but his options were very limited
Brownhill 6 Involved quite a bit but not a lot came off for him
Anass 8 Mom Always carried a threat even when they doubled up on him, final ball could have been a bit better at times
Jay 5 Never got involved, hardly held the ball up, can`t remember him winning any headers. Didn`t get much service t feed off though
Tella 5 Way off his normal game, little effect, looked a bit jaded
JBG 7 Not on long but what a well taken goal, didn`t seem over excited when he got it ?????

VK really has to sort out the teams inability to see games out, also changing players positions aka Vitiniho after his last performance on the other side when he could possibly have permed it differently, Dyche had a point with trying to keep the same line ups where he could

Muric 4 - Really indecisive, rash and no doubt had our defence unsure what he would do next. A very poor performance.

Roberts 6
THB 7
Taylor 6 - It’s only after a few weeks of Beyer that we see how ill suited to this role he is. He just doesn’t look comfortable and we lacked that zip when building from the back.
Vitinho 5 - Chalk and cheese from when he’s deployed at right back.

Muric 5 - I felt he was poor coming for crosses and hes lucky he has a relaxed back 4 or he'd scare his defenders to death
Roberts 6

Didnt really hit our stride, having said that I thought they were a decent enough side that pressed well and we could have won it. Jay should have put his header away and does 9 times out of 10. I said to my mate on the drive home, the fact we are disappointed when we draw away from home tells you how far we have come. We think we've been poor and the opposition says they thought we were a decent side.
I just hope our fans stay patient, we certainly werent bad last night, just below the high standards we set.

City a big physical side did a job on us, not seen the equaliser again but I think it came from our unforced error. Disappointed that we didn’t manage to see game out again.

Jay - 5
Zaroury - 6

JBG -7 - neat and tidy, terrific finish

Strange one. Thought Birmingham pressed well with some good pockets of play, yet we never looked like conceding aside from when Muric went a flapping. A decent point in the end I guess when we weren’t quite at it

Muric 5 - Flapped at crosses and distribution generally went straight out of play. I know I shouldn’t compare but Pope would have saved their goal last night
Roberts 6 - Middle of the road performance
THB 7 - This lad is going to go a long way but his only defensive misjudgment led to a goal
Taylor 5 - Not a CH and distribution was poor
Vitinho 5 - Much better on the right
Zaroury 7 - A bit quiet 1st half but improved 2nd and was our biggest threat
Brownhill 6 - On the periphery most of the game and didn’t really influence
Cork 7 - Would have probably kept him on and taken Josh off
Cullen 6 - Unfortunately as it stands he peaked in the Huddersfield game and hasn’t gone on from that. He needs to look for the killer pass more
Tella 4 - Worst performance of the season. Never caused a threat
Jay 5 - Hit the post and that was about it. Very quiet game

JBG 6 - Great goal and hopefully he kicks on now

Did not realise Beyer was unfit, in which case Taylor was the obvious replacement. When fit however Beyer has to start

Having been at the game cannot understand some of low scores for THB. Thought he was outstanding-maybe just a couple of stray passes To a lesser degree low scores for Tella who looked a handful-I wish a few others could demonstrate his enthusiasm and zip

From tv
Muric 5 still has his dodgy moments alas, he is better with Beyer, Maatsen LB, Vitinho RB in front of him
Roberts 7 decent game
TBH 8 thought he had a very good game, as usual.
Taylor 7 good game but the defence is better with Beyer in the middle.
Vitihno 6 not a left back.
Cork 6 by his standards not great, is 2 games a week a bit too much for him.
Cullen 7 played some good forward passes when allowed.
Brownhill 7 put a shift in.
Zaroury 6 good in bits when he had the chance to run at the defence.
Tella 6 a bit to isolated up against some physically strong centre backs
Jayrod 7 good when he got the ball
JBG 6 great goal, but a bit anonymous

Birmingham did a good job on us: pushed on our back four when we tried to play it out then dropped back to two strong defensive lines when we got the ball forward. We are better with Beyer and Maatsen on the left side of defence. I still think Charlie could be great at left back in our current set up.

We missed Beyer last night, albeit against a good side.

Muric - 5 - I'm a fan but this was a bad night at the office and the replay suggests that apart from various uncertainty moments with high balls, he got his angles wrong for the goal (good finish though it was).

Roberts - 7 - very neat and tidy performance both going forwards and defensively and looked more comfortable in the slightly wider role. If we're being hyper critical he probably should have covered the near post man for the goal but he had two men. Good competition in that department.

Vitinho - 5 - he's becoming less and less convincing at left back - the balance isn't right with him coming inside all the time even with Zaroury stretching it - and his poor throw in was ruthlessly exposed for the goal.

THB - 7 - surprised by the low marks - I thought he coped well with a real physical threat and the stats confirm as I thought that his distribution was pretty good.

Taylor - 6 - not exposed too much but he's just not comfortable in that role.

Cullen - 7 - bright and busy.

Cork - 6 - short of the impeccable standards he's set himself and beaten to the punch a little too often.

Brownhill- 6 - involved plenty but not sure the quality always matched the endeavour on this occasion and he found himself facing his own goal too much.

Tella - 5 - not in it at all, but I thought we might go more 442-ish and try playing him straight through the middle with Jay at number 10. With the team under pressure in possession he at times got caught between providing an option wide and being available for the long release.

Zaroury - 6 - some bright moments and showed a commendable willingness to get involved but wasn't a consistent threat. Worked hard defensively, which is another tick.

Jay - 6 - too deep too often. If he's going to play there, Tella has to be given more licence to play at centre forward. Unlucky with his flick though.

JBG - 7 - looked effective in the 10 role.

Tough night against the best of the current midtable outfits I've seen, and one I thought were well set up against us. Brum were really physical, had two strong (and I'm Hogan's case, athletic - he's a good player at this level) forwards and brought another off the bench, were willing to press us high and had a bit of quality in their midfield. It exposed a little that if we're pressed back when we play from deep we can be a touch lightweight, and whilst we have the pace to go long, when that pace is out wide it's not always easy to use it to beat a press. But for all that the fact that we kept Birmingham at arms length (despite some nervy moments from Muric, and a patched up back four) shows just what good shape we're I'm. Sometimes we've dropped 2 points this season- this was a point gained.
