Today's footie 6/11

Post by tiger76 » Sun Nov 06, 2022 11:26 am

Busy programme this Sunday.

Chelsea-Arsenal kicks things off at midday in the Prem.

Meanwhile Wrexham-Oldham should be tasty in the cup.

Soft free kick after soft free kick is really ruining the Chelsea Arsenal game.
A Michael Oliver special.

St Johnstone 1 Rangers 0 at the break, Arfield on the bench for Rangers, I suspect he might be required if this contines.

Wrexham 1-0 up on Oldham, goal from a set piece that wasn't dealt with, and a slight error by the keeper.

Wow! St Johnstone 2 Rangers 0, not what GVB needs when he's under pressure. Arfield now on BTW.

Must admit I thought Arsenal would have slipped up by now and let City run away with it, but they just keep on winning. Could they win it?

Can't deny Arsenal are a good side these days, doubt they'll finish above City, but they could well come 2nd.

Two of our ex players must be loving life at the worlds richest club. The third one will be "comfortable' sat on the bench.

Southgate in attendance today as well so a chance for Pope and Trippier to stake a claim for a WC place.

3-1 Villa.

Crazy game it's been all Saints, yet they keep missing their chances, while Newcastle have been deadly with their opportunities.

Great ball from Tripps for that goal as well.

He was struggling at the end of first half, surprised he was on as long as he was

Gareth will be panicking he won’t have enough right backs to choose from

Best keeper in the world (Alisson) lucky as he messes up a cross and then fumbles a shot. Just shows that all keepers have errors in them, even the very best.

No keeper in the world has ever been error free.
Part of what makes Alisson one of the best keepers in the world is that he makes fewer errors than others.

I’m guessing that was a reference to the criticism of Muric this season and especially yesterday.
Would be interesting to count the number of errors Muric made yesterday (let alone this season).
We know in the championship there is far less chance of the errors being punished or at least punished immediately. Part of the issue with the errors yesterday resulted in constant pressure and no relief for our defence. It then became a law of averages thing that even against strikers who have not exactly been prolific there is good chance they are going to bag a few when there are almost 30 attempts and many of them of them within 7 or 8 yards of our goal.

I think Southampton are the club that will survive.
