Robbie and Glen

Post by jedi_master » Sun Nov 13, 2022 9:29 pm

How do you cap off a perfect day? Spending 90 mins or so in the company of these legends after the game.

Great stories, great love for the club from both and I think Robbie summed it all up best when he said “I’ve watched Burnley for years since I left, but this is the team I watch and think - bloody hell, I wish I was playing with them lads”. Both full of admiration for what VK has done with this team and believe we will be promoted.

The cherry on the top for me was becoming the proud owner of some signed Bad Beat Bobs as well :D

I capped off a perfect day by chatting to Manny Benson at the services on the M6.

Robbie is a lovely bloke, still genuinely interested in the club as you say.

On yesterday's form he probably got there before Brittain had even left Turf Moor.

Not sure I'd recognise Blake if I bumped into him he looks so different but Glen has hardly changed at all.

Brilliant, thanks Zlatan. He posted his car on the euro tunnel (I think, never driven to Europe) on Insta this morning so that ties in.

Was he in good spirits?

He seemed happy that we won, but he suggested he didn’t play as well as he wanted to.

That’s a shame.

Would have almost certainly have had a goal if Ash had theft that shot to him.

I'd expect Brittain was spinning around for quite a while after the game. To be teased and tormented for 70 mins. by Manuel Benson is bad enough but then to get an extra 20 mins. rinsing from Nathan Tella must have left him in a very bewildered state. And didn't we love it. 😁

Bloody hell being very harsh on himself there. I thought he looked extremely dangerous yesterday and was disappointed to see him go off. His shooting was a bit wild at times but their fullback never got near him.

I think in all honesty he was simply displaying some humility; I did tell him that he's been a fantastic player for us, and he should be proud of what he has already achieved this season.
