Re: Benefit system to get a 10.1% pay increase
Our first house was 1990.
It cost £40k.
3 bed terrace up Harle Syke.
We spent around 10k on it doing it up putting in a new kitchen etc.
The market then took quite a big down turn in early 90s and when we moved and sold it 1994 we got the same price for it - £40k.
Now those houses go for £80k.
I do not think there were houses in burnley going for £5k in the 90s. If they were they would have been boarded up ones which were derelict and in really poor areas.
Re: Benefit system to get a 10.1% pay increase
Well you are certainly making up for it now, you haven't stopped moaning about how hard it was, in fact you just moan and argue about everything and anything on here.
Before you say anything, if 1958 is your year of birth then we are of the same generation, and yes the early 80's were difficult for a time but was hardly "living through the Blitz" difficult and neither will this downturn be. Having said that I wouldn't want to be a young 'un just starting out nowadays, in comparison it was easier for us to get on the housing ladder and houses/mortgages were more affordable in relation to wages which made any economical downturns more manageable.
You say a lot of your comments are sarcastic, I'd say most are bullsh!t to be fair..

Wow… apologies, I am wrong. I did remember that you could buy a house for £5k, but the £80k was wrong. Just looked again and a similar house now can be purchased for about £30k.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 9:00 amOur first house was 1990.

Yes that’s true it makes a mockery of martins claims that the high enders will be turning things around fast & overtaking the low paid when a sizeable number aren’t even finding jobs in the first place.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Nov 18, 2022 8:56 pmI think you have made a slight error there. He’s really running circles around everyone on this thread now.
I feel dizzy just watching.
The lack of self awareness is hilarious. He has no idea what he actually posted.

Re: Benefit system to get a 10.1% pay increase
I'm exactly aware of the situation & the facts are backing me up. It will take some students years to get on parity with the lost time & bouncing back from the debt onto a clean slate & I'm talking about some of the fortunate 1s.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 11:00 amHe’s really running circles around everyone on this thread now.

You’ve still no idea what you actually posted have you ?

Go back and try and decipher what you actually posted. It might take you a few hours to work it out. But at least you might appreciate what the rest of us have to cope with !

I've posted alsorts about loads of different subjects on loads of different threads so that narrows it down somewhat there's nothing like being specific.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 12:25 pmYou’ve still no idea what you actually posted have you ?

I missed not out but by all means pick me out on that I was going into a poor signal area & up against the edit clock. Yes let's all pretend students don't get into debt & after a month of college & university start to become millionaires.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 1:29 pmSo let get me right as I’m a bit dizzy watching you run in circles and tying people in knots.

Not going to, forgetting the fact that I've missed odd words out I'm sure anybody with a singular Braincell can deduce Martin's been talking a load of baloney but by all means you focus your efforts on me fast predictive texting. We can disagree, I've no problem with that, but reverting to personal abuse, says more about you, than the person you are attempting to bullyBig Vinny K wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 2:55 pmI’m not sticking up for anyone.

That's spiral reincarnated back then I think both were eventually banned for talking nonsense that much toxicity was prevalent something like 30 posters completely disappeared from the forum overnight, which eventually led to certain subjects being completely banned which seems to have eased I'm guessing with the world cup & nothing on the domestic front to talk about.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 4:31 pmI think he was Imploding Turtle a nasty piece of work and now reinvented himself, sad Mon really
