England v USA
England v USA
England unchanged from the win against Iran.
A win tonight surely means they will win the group and allow them to play a second string against Wales, which would be a boost.

If they win tonight, I'd only drop those carrying a yellow card tbh. Momentum everything in a short tournament like this. Plus Wales will save their best performance for us, of that I'm sure.

Re: England v USA
No surprise Gareth has named an unchanged team after that excellent display against Iran.
Hopefully we'll get a few ahead and he can make a few early changes to rest some legs.
If England do get the job completed tonight then I'm sure there will be plenty of fringe players getting a run out in the Wales game.

Re: England v USA
Our central defence is way below the rest of the team in quality. Highly likely to be the reason we go out, if and when we do.

One interesting bit of trivia, Horvath the shaky looking dude who stood between the sticks for Luton vs the Clarets back in August is among the US subs.

McKennie gets the award for the most stupid haircut of the tournament so far.
Re: England v USA
USA far better team at the moment. Pressing better, playing out through our press better.

USA best team so far. Need to get a grip
Re: England v USA
USA move the ball quickly when they go forward, hence they get chances
Re: England v USA
Why are England jogging around in slow motion?

Re: England v USA
We're asking for trouble here, far too pedestrian with hardly any attacking intent.

Re: England v USA
USA transition from attack to defence much better and there shape to be fair is causing us problems need a man to run with ball and break nlines
Re: England v USA
Our players all look exhausted, why don’t they wake up and play forward passes with energy and aggression?

I've told my six year old he can stay up and watch the whole game. He said he'd rather go to bed.

Re: England v USA
Midfield and full backs spending the entire game facing their own goal. Nobody taking it on the turn. Harsh to pick out one player when all are offering little bit Mount is utterly anonymous.

Re: England v USA
I thought even against Iran that Burnley look far more accomplished playing out from the back than England. I know the opposition is better but our defenders are better passers of the ball.

Re: England v USA
Mount and a Rice must be very good players if they are keeping Foden on the bench.
Re: England v USA
Rice I can understand, Sterling and Mount have been turd all season and shouldn’t be on the pitchVino blanco wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:42 pmMount and a Rice must be very good players if they are keeping Foden on the bench.

A half decent team would be hammering us, let's hope we up the tempo, to ponderous.

Bit better towards the end as we finally start playing through the lines
