Match worn shirt Clarets v Blackburn ticket raffle (mods to confirm)
Match worn shirt Clarets v Blackburn ticket raffle (mods to confirm)
I was fortunate enough to place a winning bid for a “match worn shirt”
Burnley V Blackburn 13 November 2022
I also got another shirt so I’m good with this.
During the original thread it was mentioned Many times about raffle tickets……
Well I’m prepared to offer this match worn shirt of a Burnley player worn during our 3-0 win as long as it generates over £500
I’ve no idea how to sort this, i did send a mail to mods but had no reply, probably busy.
The money can be split 50/50 with a charity dear to my heart and possibly the youth set up at Burnley?
So who’s up for it from the mods or someone who can run this.
It would make a good Christmas present or just to hang on your wall as a memento of our fabulous day

I think it would be best for the raffle to keep that quiet, a sort of Christmas surprise.
I can upload photos of the box and front of shirt but I would not be wasting my time or anybody’s else’s
Hope you understand x

Brilliant idea and a tenner a ticket is a small price to own one of these sought after shirts
Good Luck I hope the mods allow this.

I am happy to partake. Just a few hundred more then!
Foodbank seems to be the current favourite.

Re: Match worn shirt Clarets v Blackburn ticket raffle (mods to confirm)
I'd need to know which shirt it was before I parted with a tenner... Otherwise its a great idea
Re: Match worn shirt Clarets v Blackburn ticket raffle (mods to confirm)
I’m happy for the 50/50 split to be my charity and what the majority think for BFC side of things.
It will also allow us to see how the tickets go that way it will allow others to push for this in the future

Hard lines
I will confirm the shirt was worn by a Burnley player and he was on the pitch during our 3-0 win
What more do you need

I’m sure you will sell plenty
Re: Match worn shirt Clarets v Blackburn ticket raffle (mods to confirm)
I'm in if MOD'as allow ...
it could go next to Dean Marneys number 8 from 2016 ...
Hope the Mods allow this, and Ians suggestion of the Foodbank is a good one, as a lot of us contribute a "tin for the bin" on matchdays already

Re: Match worn shirt Clarets v Blackburn ticket raffle (mods to confirm)
Just need a Mod now that I can communicate with to sort the detail, it would be good at the top of the board (sticky??)
Draw it at end of season, if it earns over £500 then 50/50 split
To chosen BFC charity and my charity which is the
Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

I would join in with at least one ticket.
Needs to be drawn in the short term Christmas would be good. Not end of season
I would contribute more if it could be won as a Christmas present

I'll have a go. Player irrelevant - happy to be surprised.
Nice one AMEX.
Hope the mouth breathers don't manage to get this thread closed. The rules seem to be straightforward. Want a chance to win this shirt? Buy a ticket - buy a few tickets. Don't want a ticket because you're getting all moody because you don't know who wore it? Don't buy a ticket, but please, whilst you aren't buying a ticket, stfu and let everyone else get on with it.
Cheers.

Hi Amex, a nice idea. For some reason your proposal made me think what the rules are for organising raffles (aka lotteries). After a little googling it appears the Gambling Commission set the rules.Amex wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 6:40 pmI was fortunate enough to place a winning bid for a “match worn shirt”

I recommend taking a look at this link:
www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/public-an ... -a-licence
Types of lottery you can run without a licence
You must follow the rules for the type of lottery you plan to run. Otherwise you could break the law and face a fine or imprisonment.
- run a small lottery for charity with my club or group
- run a fundraiser at an event
- run a lottery for my customers as a business owner
- run a lottery with people I work with
- run a lottery for people I live with
- run a small lottery for charity or to raise money for my club or group

Just do an in forum raffle to raise x amount and a link to pay for your ticket

I agree with this. It’s spontaneous, it’s Christmas and people are more charitable this time of year. I’m confident that you’ll get just as much for the causes of the draw was done in a matter of weeks.
Not knowing the identity of the player makes it more intriguing.

I image that the mods may have something to say about an activity that runs the risk of a fine or imprisonment.
Get it right and everything OK. Get it wrong and there may be no money for any charities.
Who knows, it may be these rules that result in the club holding auctions in the first place.

Thought...
You set up a JustGive Page for us to sponsor you to donate to your charity and the BFC Foodbank.
We all chip in at £10 = 1 chance to win the unknown shirt.
You and someone of authority then get together and write our name on the back of a cloakroom ticket (per £10)
The draw is made somewhere public with an independent person (no ticket) making the draw.
Winner notified on here, and the delivery can be made.
So far, I reckon you have pledges of about 200 pounds, maybe more.
We could do it by Christmas if the nos are there and the donations made. If not, no reason why it should not end the year with the draw, as far as I am concerned.
Thank you Amex.

The opening post mentions Christmas, a later post suggests an end of season draw, needs to be now in my opinion.claptrappers_union wrote: ↑Mon Dec 12, 2022 10:46 pmI agree with this.
