Re: Norwich away.
To be fair, pretty much the only option from up north is car or coach. trying to get there on the train nowadays, even for 3pm, is very hard work.
Ridiculous kick off time though, they dont care about the travelling fans, but we already knew that.

Leisure might need to think about setting off at Midnight, like we did in the 70s with Viscount Central

Re: Norwich away.
A trip to Brighton comes to mind. Tour of the pubs around Burnley on the Friday night, with coach from the bus station at midnight. Arriving in Brighton about 7am. And no toilet on the bus!
Re: Norwich away.
Yeah pubs in Burnley then on the coach at midnight half cooked ! Can't remember that one leisure....Exeter and Plymouth I do ....when our loan man Malcolm Smith notched...I think we signed him on soon after ?.
Happy days

Re: Norwich away.
We've just taken over 1,700 to QPR for a 1pm Sunday k.o.
Re: Norwich away.
It's a lot easier getting to London than Norwich! I also imagine a good % of that 1,700 are Southern based.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 5:18 pmWe've just taken over 1,700 to QPR for a 1pm Sunday k.o.

I remember someone in the RAF in Yorkshire saying he could get to Ascension Island quicker than Norwich.

If people just stopped at the Linton travel tavern overnight then there wouldn't be an issue. Bring your own plate though

“We can turn round now and you get your money back - or we push on, the game might be off, and no refunds”
It was a colder cold snap than this weekend. Like Bambi on ice at the services.
All that for a nil nil draw as I remember.

More of use to southern clarets as it's equidistant between Norwich and LondonCroydon Claret wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 5:46 pmIf people just stopped at the Linton travel tavern overnight then there wouldn't be an issue. Bring your own plate though

Re: Norwich away.
Sure, but the game kicks off at 12:30.
Re: Norwich away.
As someone who’s done that drive regularly a few years back I know that you have to add at least another hour onto the ETA to account for traffic and other issues. Rarely did I arrive when I expected to.
Re: Norwich away.
Thanks for all the comments. We'll keep them in mind before we finalise the pickup times.

Perhaps this is your chance Leisure for your midnight pick up.

Nightmare last year, no issues on the roads at all so unfortunately got there in plenty of time to see that match.

Re: Norwich away.
There is a reason I've never done Norwich and this is it
(weirdly I've done Ipswich, Plymouth, Bournemouth, Gillingham though, which are all ballaches to get to)
