Gary Glitter

Post by gtclaret » Fri Dec 16, 2022 10:40 pm

Will be released after serving half his sentence. A statement read that he has been a model prisoner he has "kept his nose clean and toed the line". I don't think it was his nose or toes that got him into trouble.

I accidentally witnessed his brick being erased on Mathew Street outside the Cavern Club. A crowd of people stood and cheered.

A somewhat surreal experience.

Can't understand why a pervert gets out early because he has behaved well in prison, his victims lives are ruined, their anguish isn't halved. Anyone who abuses a child should never see daylight again.

Because everyone deserves an opportunity to offer themselves and their services back to the society they’re a part of. I hope he takes this opportunity to show remorse and humility.

His crimes will never be and should never be forgotten, but they can be forgiven by those he targeted and abused.

Forgiveness is a wonderful thing, it frees the soul.

Bordeauxclaret has trolled me all over this message board with his weird obsession with Ringo McCartney. I've repeatedly asked him to get off my back. For a while I've been able to post without him indulging in his fixation . Till today yet again. I know exactly what he's doing , so does he. Now I've worked out how to block nuisances I've done just that. Happy days ! Off to the Turf shortly. Enjoy the game. UTC.

It seems we have learned little since the Saille disclosures. Recently someone pleaded guilty to a sexual offence against a young girl and was released on bail awaiting sentence.

Of course he will have behaved and have toed the line in prison, there are no vulnerable children in prison. He was never going to be a threat in there but in the outside world is a different matter especially as he is a serial perverted offender. I too was hoping the **** was dead.

Prisoners are rewarded by time off for good behaviour to give them a reason to behave. If you are given a natural life sentence what is to stop you murdering guards and other inmates at will?

It would make the prison system impossible to police and make it a potential source of Revolution (Bastille 1789).

Many years ago I had a bar in Siem Riep, Cambodia. Glitter lived a few streets over and was continuously seen around small children. He was banned from every ex-pat bar in town. Rumour has it that he actually paid a local village elder $100USD to ‘look after’ his daughter for a month….**** of the earth!

I don’t think anyone who has any knowledge of Glitter will be in the least surprised. Nor will many have had any real doubt about why he had moved to Indo-China, only why it had been permitted. He had prosecutions here, so, presumably the British Government just wanted it not to be their problem anymore, at the time.

As a thought process; Yes I wouldn’t mind.

I have children, and nieces who live next door (countryside measurements).

I parent my children in a way that I feel gives them the confidence, and tools, to be aware of, and manage, the dangers that some they’ll encounter in society pose. It doesn’t totally remove the change of someone attempting to prey on them, but it dramatically reduces the risk.

I didn't realise that Glitter (Paul Gadd) was still serving time. His earlier convictions related to offences committed in Vietnam.
Gadd studied Elvis Presley closely and created a character in a similar persona before embarking on a relatively short but very successful career with some mid seventies stompers that saw him at at the Top of the charts with around a dozen songs. It would have been a situation that brought him into contact with lots of 'teenyboppers '. Like with Jimmy Seville it is quite horrendous that he managed to manoeuvre himself into situations with such vulnerable people.

He was given the keys to the castle by the incumbents at the time. Facilitated and encouraged by the bbc.

Surely he's been sentenced for what he has done, the potential for re offending shouldn't be a factor determining early release.

Regardless of views on GG he’s served his sentence from a legal perspective he’s free when they grant it .
Ironically though an apparent live long n0nce with 2 previous prison stretches he was pretty much stitched up for the latest one . Though goes with the territory I guess .Though how on earth he lives in uk after this ? Or any country a 3 times imprisoned sex case . Should have chemical castration for repeat offenders ,im genuinely suprised they don’t .

I have to laugh about all this “Gary Glitter was a demon” rhetoric. He’s a nonce no doubt and nobody should forget it, but what about Jimmy Page, Dave Bowie, John Bonham, Mick Jagger, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and no doubt countless others? Maybe their “down with the kids” music is a bit more acceptable.
Noncery ( is that a word?) is something that in the music business a blind eye is shown unless it suits otherwise.

“down with the kids”.
