George Cohen RIP
Sadly the latest of our World Cup winners to pass away with George Cohen passing away today at 83.
I think that just leaves Bobby Charlton & Geoff Hurst still with us.

RIP George. Vastly under-rated FB even with his World Cup winners medal. Condolences to all family and friends.

Re: George Cohen RIP
Sad news, he was an excellent full back who I watched regularly in the mid-1960s at Fulham. A one-club man and World Cup winner.
RIP George and thanks for the memories.

Re: George Cohen RIP
Of the 22 man squad I think there is still Terry Paine, Ian Callaghan and George Eastham, they of course didn't play in the finalClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 10:53 amSadly the latest of our World Cup winners to pass away with George Cohen passing away today at 83.

Always seemed a nice man George Cohen.

Another sad loss from that great generation of English football, helped make a whole nation proud, was one of 11 legends. RIP George

Sir Geoff Hurst
@TheGeoffHurst
Very sad to hear my friend and @England
teammate George Cohen has died. Everyone, without exception, always said that George was such a lovely man. He will be sadly missed, my heartfelt thoughts are with George’s wife Daphne and his family.

George Best said that George Cohen was the best full back he ever played against.

Re: George Cohen RIP
Another one of the 66 squad sadly leaves us, and probably one of the more unsung heroes of that triumph, but a key member all the same.

Re: George Cohen RIP
RIP George, a great right back. I read that he played every minute of every England game at the World Cup in 1966. Just Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst left. I think Bobby is suffering with dementia. How many of the Burnley F.C. Championship Team of 1959-1960 are still alive ?
