Cardiff and Luton wins would make it a near perfect day.

Not too bothered about Sheff Utd as I expect them to get promoted along with us. Blackburn, Watford and Preston all losing is a bonus although I can't see any of them catching us regardless of their results.
8 point gap now between the top 2 and the rest, nothing is guaranteed in December but both Burnley & Sheff Utd must be highly favoured to finish the job and gain promotion from here particularly with the squad depth both possess.

I think he's the best striker in the league

Even on a bad day, he looks like he could make things happen. The only question I have is how much is he worth without proven PL quality?

I'd say easily £13m. Maybe even £15m, but £20m is probably too much for a club who has to manage finances, like ourselves
Today is the first time I’ve watched him in a full game since our game at Coventry. Really impressed, but per your post, not really sure he offered enough to be classed as a £20m+ striker. £10-12m range for me, which is likely out of our range in any event.

Love Gustavo Hamer, wouldn’t mind a bid for him.

We are 1/6 odds on for promotion. Surprisingly Sheff U are only 7/4 in second.

Hamer is a good player too. Size wise a bit too similar to Cullen though.

Everton fans moaning and groaning throughout the game apparently as they weren’t getting the ball forwards quick enough - players succumbed and they end up getting caught on the break. Sums up that fanbase.

That’s why I’d like him. Do feel we need cover there. If Cork/Cullen get injured I think it’d have a big impact on our season.

Hmmm I think between Brownhill, Bastien and Westwood we have good enough cover for half the season.

Hamer is someone we could look at in the PL if the price is right. Only 25 and one year left on his contract.

The reason I can't see past is the inconsistency of everybody else, no-one appears capable of putting a long sequence of results together to challenge the top 2, who keep churning out the wins as well.

I guess if we can open that much of a gap in half a season it could be closed in the 2nd half.
Though I doubt we will fall off in form to that extent.

It will certainly be ironic if McNeil and Tarkowski both get relegated with Everton whilst we go in the other direction. I can see it happening if they stick with Frank.
Oh dear, how sad.

Ha ha! Was just about to comment the same! Think it’s Clive Tyldesley with Townsend.
Really awful these two: the commentary team from hell!

I think it depends on who you compare them to. The female co-commentator who was on Sky for our game for Man U was utterly horrendous. And the co-commentator when we played QPR.

Watching Villa v Liverpool, start of 2nd half and Villa have goal disallowed.

A announcement over the tannoy, 1 minute after play has restarted, confirms the goal disallowed and VAR check complete.... well obviously as play restarted with a Liverpool free kick. Is this message made by the stadium announcer or an auto message which is pre-recorded? Either way the lateness of the announcement is so bad it was funny.

The reverse fixtures 2 days later. Fulham scored 10 lost the return, Rovers scored 8 away lost the return, we scored 6 lost the return(Best came in for his second appearance and stayed in), Wed won 3-0 then lost 3-0. An unbelievable 3 days. I’ve long thought what a day that would have been for Jeff Stelling and the boys. They should re-enact it.

But yes, if promoted I think he’d be a decent signing that suits our system.
