This board will be torn in half when we play Norwich if he did get that job between the Burnley fans and the Dyche fans.

Yeah I could see him doing a few hours a week at Norwich. Cash in hand.
Re: Dyche for Norwich
I liked Dyche, I felt he should either have been given the chance till the end of the season or sacked 3 months earlier (If rumours are true and he did some of the things that are being said, then he is not the bloke I thought he was) and if he got the job at Norwich he would be the opposition (aka enemy) so would be treated as such from me.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 9:47 pmThis board will be torn in half when we play Norwich if he did get that job between the Burnley fans and the Dyche fans.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
It would cost Norwich a small fortune to sack Smith and employ Dyche, they should have potted Smith and got Critchley in when he was available
Re: Dyche for Norwich
There’s already been a post on this from Saturday.
Re: Dyche for Norwich
Dyches hubris wouldn’t allow him to take the Norwich job anyway. He thinks he’s better than that..
Where as back in reality no one in the EPL wants Dyche or his antique hoofball

Northampton is one of the few places from which Norwich isn't too bad a drive.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
Surely any true Burnley fan will support the club over Dyche, however great he did for us we've now moved on with Kompany at the helm.Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2022 9:47 pmThis board will be torn in half when we play Norwich if he did get that job between the Burnley fans and the Dyche fans.
And no doubt in a few years Kompany will also move on, probably to a bigger fish, and we'll have to replace him as well.
Regarding the Norwich gig I can't see them being interested in SD, but I could be completely wrong in my assessment.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
Norwich play Reading on Friday, then Watford on Monday both at home. Would imagine they’ll see how they go before making a call. Reality is that they’re still 5th and I’m not sure who is available that has much better pedigree than Smith?
Go behind or start poorly and the atmosphere at both could be be pretty grim though.
They then have a 12 day break between Champ games though, with the FA cup in between which I assume they’d happily write off in the scheme of things. That would be the better time to make a swap if that’s what they’re planning.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
No it seems no Prem teams are interested, and even Championship interest in Sean is lukewarm at best.
Style of play could be a stumbling block for hiring Dyche rightly or wrongly, but most clubs now want younger progressive coaches, just look at how Steve Bruce bombed at West Brom compared to how they are flying under their new manager, Boro also chopped Wilder for Carrick and are equally reaping the rewards.

More Dyche threads on here than Burnley ones.
Re: Dyche for Norwich
Question is, what do Norwich actually want to achieve?
All they ever do, after getting promoted, is to get relegated the following season.
All well and good trying to play good football but it just leads to constant humiliation once in the Premier league.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
Getting promoted is an achievement in itself regardless of what happens the following season.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
I'd hold back on that as its very likely the same will happen to us next season
Re: Dyche for Norwich
I agree, that's why I'll always want a mixture of good football mixed in with the ability to grind out results at times.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 11:35 amI'd hold back on that as its very likely the same will happen to us next season

Re: Dyche for Norwich
I have never had an issue with Norwich, never have, in fact I quite like them, however I have got a bit sick to death this season of the constant media hype about how good they are and their pre season promotion favourite credentials. They are very average and in no way shape or form do they look like promotion contenders but if you read a lot of the media hype you would think they should be twenty points clear at the top. Just for this season I would be happy to see them sink like a stone.

I wouldn’t be so sure about that. VK is different gravy to the likes of Farke. He has some serious connections at a very high level and has spent a long time playing under an elite coach.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 11:35 amI'd hold back on that as its very likely the same will happen to us next season

Assuming they can afford to sack him, Dean Smith will be gone soon.
With the squad they have on paper, they should be up there with Sheffield United and ourselves.

And to talk of any Burnley fan preferring a Dyche side to beat our current one is just idiotic.
Dyche did well under his circumstances and fans rightly praise him for doing as well as he did for as long as he did.
His time ran out and our new era has begun spectacularly well. That's about all there is to it, really.

Re: Dyche for Norwich
What will worry SD about Norwich is that they are not forgiving. If he goes on one of those winless runs, followed by a spree of good results and points, like he did with us, he would be sacked before the good run started. No way will Delia give him the amount of time and loyalty that Garlick did

Re: Dyche for Norwich
Dyche early favourite, though at 4/1 currently.
Re: Dyche for Norwich
After declaring his interest in premier league jobs and stating he deserves a crack at one, do you think Dyche has it in him to swallow his pride and take a championship job?
I don't.
