Re: Stoke vlog
This Guy was pretty fair.
And a more observant plus a more eloquent, articulate chap than any of the paid commentary people and ex players.
Hope he gets a "gig" in that field.

Re: Stoke vlog
Done a good job there has the lad.
Re: Stoke vlog
Jay Rod is clearly offside when he attempts to reach the ball from behind the keeper and if he’s made contact with it then it should have been ruled out. Unless you’re on about another part of the play?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 1:15 amsome cracking stuff on this, away sounds superb, also puts to bed the goal being offside (it's not)

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take it and yes, that lad has a future in commentary, he was good
Re: Stoke vlog
Yeah scrub my opinion, defender plays it back in so Jay Rod can’t be offsideZlatan wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 8:35 amJay Rod is clearly offside when he attempts to reach the ball from behind the keeper and if he’s made contact with it then it should have been ruled out. Quite a talent that lad and a very good understanding of the finer points of the game. Loved his appreciation of the Burnley away support.

What a good
He knows more about our players than some of those who post on here. So refreshing to see a fan vlog that isn't full of childish posturing and one-sidedness.

Their only shot on goal, a smashed coach window and lots of references to "turd moor"

Re: Stoke vlog
What was he talking about at the end saying we get a lot of stick for having a rubbish fan base? Who from? Our away support is as good as any in this league. He's ok is the lad but it would do my head in if I had to sit next to him twittering away and filming everything.

And yes, fair play to that young lad.

That Souttar is huge. Just checked and he's 6'6". Same height as Arijanet Muric.

Does a good job.
What's he on about at 4.26 when he claims he has had the notification they scored?
He's watching live football.
Bizarre.

Re: Stoke vlog
He's talking about having a feeling they're gonna score (I can feel it in my bones we're gonna score from this corner). In the modern world young folk are often reacting to notifications on their phone when something happens so he's just using that as a simile to the common feeling football fans get that something is about to happen.
Re: Stoke vlog
Give over, he's dreadful. I accept the official club commentator is going to be a bit biased, but he takes it to ridiculous levels.ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 11:39 amGreat vlog by a knowledgeable away supporter but leave Phil Bird alone: his commentary is good.

Re: Stoke vlog
I just think coming onto a public forum and suggesting someone is dreadful really needs some justification.
I like his commentary and fully expect Claret tinted glasses not least because he is affiliated to the club.
I suppose it's a matter of opinion.

Re: Stoke vlog
i listen to PB's audio commentary regularly.
He is passionate about Burnley FC, and understandably biased.
One thing that I pick up on with audio only is how terrified he sounds every time we lose the ball; when watching it is clear that there is little or nothing to panic about.

Love that he has even got the Sam Cam microphone
Great job from a young lad - speaks well, knowledgeable and balanced. He’s got a good head on his shoulders for one so young. Credit to him.

I like to watch vlogs like this because, living abroad, I don't get the opportunity to enjoy the crowd experience and this does give you a good feeling for what the Burnley fans are like nowadays.
Regarding Phil Bird, I like his commentaries because his feelings towards Burnley FC are just the same as mine......totally biased.

Re: Stoke vlog
The goal notification thing is just a joke the kids use now, that’s all.
As for picking up on one mistake on a first name of an opposition player.. FFS. A young lad has produced an excellent video, spoken eloquently and fairly about a game in real time and that’s your feedback.

I love Phil Bird's commentary, it makes me feel like I'm stood next to my mates in the Cricket Field. That's what I want in a football commentary because I am a Burnley fan and I like biased because I'm biased!
