Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
This bus had manly Nelson people on, with a few from the Turf. Whilst the 2 lads who ran the bus did their best to clean up when it got back to Nelson (that's picking up bags full of rubbish that people just couldn't be bothered putting in the bags on the seat arms!) but when the bus got back to the depot the driver and a colleague spent nearly 2 hours having to fully sweep and mop the bus and to clean the toilet cubicle which was covered in sick and sh*t. I really do despair! We will be meeting on the Swansea trip to decide how to deal with this totally unacceptable behaviour, with there being a strong possibility that we will stop picking up in Nelson. Rant over (for now!).

Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
Is it feasible to allocate seat numbers on the bus and ban those that leave a mess ?
Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
Dreadful disrespectful and indeed from the aspect of infections negligent behaviour. Find them and do what some folk do in training animals-rub their noses in it. Rant also over.

Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
You must know who was on that bus so simply ban all of them from using your service again unless the culprits are identified.
Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
It wouldn't help identifying those who go to the toilet and make the mess, though someone on the coach must know who was in such a state to do such a thing.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Dec 31, 2022 5:08 pmIs it feasible to allocate seat numbers on the bus and ban those that leave a mess ?
Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
Maybe just pick your regulars up at Nelson who you know and trust. No big groups of young lads who you don't really know.
Would be a shame but you and the lads who run the buses have enough on your plates without having to deal with rubbish like this.

I took my grandson to Utd my first away game for a few years and his first one.We both enjoyed our trip and I fully applaud you for the effort you all put in and even trust on us turning up.We are hoping to get to another game this season if we can get tickets and it saddens me to read about this and hope it does not spoil things for the majority who probably rely on people like you and team.

Trouble with this is, it won’t stop people drinking which will leave people ******* in bottles and being sick on the floor/seats. It’s a real shame that a small minority ruin it for everybody else.
Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
Thing is it's always the relatively local away games that attracts the idiots/young lads who can't handle their beer etc.
I'd wager there's no issues when you go on the longer trips like Cardiff and Swansea.

We had a few on our coach too. One of the reasons why the coach is often my last choice of travel.

Really sad to hear that Pete. Accy Clarets have been nothing short of amazing for every fan of this club and i for one I'm gutted to hear that. I like a drink myself and enjoy the day out as much as anyone but I have been brought up to have that mentality of treating someone else's property as if its your own.
FAO these idiots - please don't ruin a superb and greatly priced transport to such away games by either drinking too much where you need to vomit/deficate OR abuse the people helping keeping these coaches run which I myself have used many times over the years.
Hope this doesn't spoil your new year Pete and of course best wishes for 2023 . UTC!!

Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
Peter - It really is a pathetic state of affairs to have a coach returned like this from any away game but from Stoke!
Our coach left the car park with the rest of them at around 10.20 last night and we pulled up in Accrington at 11.42.
That journey took us straight up the M6 and along the M65 during which we passed 7 service stations.
Thankfully everybody on my coach had the sense to use the toilets in the ground prior to leaving for the journey home but even if they hadn't most of them have bladders that will last an hour.
But if they hadn't and they had asked I would have requested the driver to stop the coach at one of the service stations.
It is once again the one or two idiots who risk spoiling an absolutely brilliant service for the majority.

Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
You should ban drinking in the coaches. I thought it was illegal anyway to drink on football coaches? but when we see an accy clarets coach they are always young lads drinking on the coaches with cans and bottles. If they can’t drink on the coach then they can’t get so p1ssed they are in that sort of state.
If they turn up too p1ssed, either before you set off, at the stop or after the game then don’t let them on.

Leisure does a brilliant, thankless task…………..Colne Clarets similar years ago with Beaky, similar problem even then …………we were on coach 3 yesterday and the lad “in charge” did a brilliant job………..it’s surely the kids getting on with cases of Stella etc… Maybe limit what they can take on board……………or just go “over 25’s only on coaches “……….appreciate it puts pressure on those “stewarding” but if (when) we get promoted it’ll only get worse as more kids want to travel……
And if BFC want to ferry them around on the basis they’re ‘the future” good luck to them…..

Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
It will always happen at away games either on a coach or train.
Out of every group of young lads going, at least one can't keep up drinking with the others.
At that age they fall about laughing at their mates being sick rather than helping them.
If they're regulars, have a chat with them and ask one to help run a coach, so they see what it takes.

Best to stop the weeing on the coach and have to ask the driver to stop. That calms a few!

I've seen a few coaches disembark this season, and the younger element getting off are in a right state.RickyBobby wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 12:21 amYou should ban drinking in the coaches. The trip to Wigan is an hour at most, yet those getting off had either been p1ssed getting on the coach, or somehow on the journey, either way it could have been stopped by those in charge of the coach. I know its a thankless task, but something needs doing, otherwise the coach company will put a stop to it, and hundreds of decent, law abiding fans will miss out.

True. But that doesn’t stop them getting smashed beforehand or at the game - which I’ve never really understood why people do that so much that they can’t remember it
Some people will say “don’t have the in stops then” but why should everyone suffer due to the actions of a few mindless idiots

I guess I, and others could spot the trouble makers before they got on a coach.
Get them identified, ban them, then everyone else can enjoy trips in peace

Re: Accy Clarets coach 1 to Stoke
It's a tough job being the organiser of away travel and also a very tough job policing the coach.
I agree with previous suggestions about taking the seat numbers when collecting the money . it's just as easy to write down the seat number as it is to tick paid.
As for the toilets lock them , if anybody wants to use it they get the key off the organiser. if they go in and its swimming with pee or smeared with poo , just tell the organiser who you got the key off and he can ask the previous person to clean it or risk being banned from future travel. If you miss the pot at home or a mates house you would clean up after yourself.
I would also make groups responsible for their group booking. if someone doesn't turn up they pay the missing seat, likewise if one or more of them are idiots on the coach then that group are collectively responsible. If you have idiots in your group don't book them on. The idea of this is self policing. it shouldn't been the coach organiser having to control your drunken mates behaviour.
It is illegal drinking or being in possession of alcohol if travelling to or from football game where the coach or train travel is dedicated for that use.
I presume the police turn a blind eye to this in most cases (easier to manage a supporters coach than groups of lads on trains and transit vans) However the coach company , Driver, organiser and the individual are all responsible. Coaches have been turned around missing the game and coaches have been searched. Been on one that the police raided whilst on the game and removed all the alcohol from peoples bags.
Hence why most supporters clubs have a day out to a nearby town for a meal and a few drinks prior to the game (we get 2+ hours at the pub/restaurant stop ) from past experience at the Man Utd game about 20+ U18's got thrown out or refused for fake ID at the pub so you realise why they like to drink on the coach.
Everybody should take responsibility of the coach, the aisle ways and your own seating area. if a can is spilt clean it up ASAP. make sure there are enough cleaning products, to cope with spillages.
Personally think they do great job , and it's a thankless task running a coach its also their day out and its not their full time job.

Disgraceful behaviour from some Nelson hoodlums, however, still a bit ironic that you are complaining whilst many people, potentially including yourself are breaking the law by drinking alcohol or allowing people to drink alcohol on the coach. (The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985)

I've travelled with Accy Clarets and seen just as many older ones who have had "a few" and who drink on the coaches as younger ones.
One firm I know does an inspection stop about 30 mins away from the destination, everyone gets off and the coach is inspected and if not found to be in good condition it won't start again until it's sorted out. Lads have literally had to wipe sick off with their shirts under everyone's watching eyes because they're the ones who have held the coach up. They rarely have any trouble at all now as people know it won't be tolerated.

There’s a subtle difference between knowing fans drink on a coach and actively confirming a supporters group allows that Hence why your post was removed.
