He should do. They had Phillips on loan from Huddersfield but he's picked up a long term injury and Mellon in as his replacement. It will be interesting to see how he does given this will be his first go at first team football.

Didn't expect him to go straight to League 1 given bith Richardson and Costelloe are in League 2. Maybe it's because he's a bigger/stronger lad than those two and is a bit more "effective" (for want of a better word).
Really hope he does well, going in off the back of a hattrick in his last game may help. Just hope we've not pitched him too high for his first taste of senior football.
Seems like he is a like for like replacement for Phillips that got injured who was tasked with running the channels and trying to get in behind the defence rather than doing much build up / hold up play. Would play to his strengths.

He’s definitely a bigger/stronger lad than the other two. I suppose it’s what opportunities come up. I half expected him to go to Tranmere to be honest.Mattster wrote: ↑Thu Jan 19, 2023 7:50 pmDidn't expect him to go straight to League 1 given bith Richardson and Costelloe are in League 2. Can’t think why.
