Bangladesh v England 1st ODI

Post by tiger76 » Wed Mar 01, 2023 11:08 am

Blimey! yet more cricket, and England struggling in pursuit of 210, 46-3 with Roy, Salt & Vince out, Malan & Buttler with lots of work to do.

Too much cricket I fear and this looks like a 2nd XI, others in NZ and Hales earning big bucks elsewhere. Where is Livingstone?

Buttler falls cheaply, Malan well set but he needs someone to stay with him.

A good win eventually thanks to Malan, an unspectacular but effective 1 day player.

Malan playing a lone hand to steer England home, a good win to start the tour considering it's very much a 2nd string.

Malan seems to come for undue criticism because he's not a crash bang wallop player like the rest, however he's ranked highly for a reason and that innings showed exactly why.

Good to see Jason Roy back in the runs, great to watch at the top of the innings when he's in form.
Blimey, 2 wickets for Sam Curran in the first over, 4-2. Difficult task for Bangla from here.
Surrey CCC boys doing well.

196 all out. No England batsman reached 40. Disappointing.
