Seat Swaps - How does it actually work?

Post by ŽižkovClaret » Tue Apr 04, 2023 4:17 pm

The club posted that it's available from 9am tomorrow but no actual info about how you would go about it

Well, obviously yeah, but would be good to see what options there might be. I'm on my tod so might be the odd single seat in a prime spot to tempt me

Either nip into the clubshop and pick a better seat or ring up and choose. (Best to have a stadium layout at hand)

Not sure how easy it will be to get through on the phone though.

Anyone who didn't renew...seat available. That could be anywhere inc very sought after location. Worth a look and then a call to the ticket office!

I have the best seat, so don't expect mine!

Hi Quicken,

You don't happen to work for the Ticket Office do you?

That's the sort of comment I've come to expect from them.
It really would be interesting to know what percentage of Season Ticket holders live within 30 mins drive of Turf Moor.

I bet it's a lot lower than most of you think.

Has something got lost in translation and upset you?

Northerners use the word nip quite often. I use it when I won't be in somewhere long, although it has many other meanings.

I’ve said this before but you could have 3 groups in each of JHU, BL & JML that all want to swap.

JML wants to move to JHU
JHU wants to move to BL
BL wants to move to JML

As it currently is, because they are all contacting the office separately they will all get “sorry no room in that area”, but if there was some system, they could see that they could all get their moves done

According to Quicken, all 18000 of us should just nip down to the ticker office tomorrow.

If you want to get smart then check the meaning of what was wrote.
'Nip into' would suggest length of time in the ticket office.

'Nip down' would suggest time taken to get there.

Interesting concept. We could expand on that and make it like a games show… broadcast on t’interweb.

We all turn up to “claim” our seats… fist come first served, but you can’t change stands unless you’ve been through a swap stands pre show and swapped with others who want to swap stands - to ensure each stand has the requisite No of fans in there.

The catch is that the club announce the event to take place at a random time in the summer… you don’t go, you get allocated the scraps…

Would be essentially a big fight for the best seats :D

I could have just said “seat swaps ain’t easy” couldn’t I…

Surely there would be more than one person conducting seat swap enquiries today, if so, is it too much trouble to ask atleast one person to deal with phone enquiries?
I have a vision that those in the ticket office are being dealt with by numerous people, whilst those of us living hours away from Turf are ringing the phone off the hook.
So frustrating :|

After getting the engaged tone since 9am (which is the time their info on FB stated was when we could call from) I've finally got through to the options menu, only for it to state on option 3 that they open at 10am!

Idiots! 😡

I’ve just got back from the ticket office after swapping a seat. Arrived at just before 8am and was roughly about 10 from the front of the queue. By the time the doors opened at 9am the queue was approximately 100 deep I would say. 4 people behind the counter all being very helpful and patient.

I don't think it's ever been available online.

Just try again later. Remember, the people swapping will leave a seat behind, so there's every chance of one becoming available where you want it.

So unfair to those of us who live nowhere near Burnley or have to work.
I've left a voice message asking to be called back, if/when I have my call returned I'm not expecting anything left for my swap requirements.

It seems a 2 tiered system with BFC, good customer service if you live locally but $hite to those who don't.

I think so but it’s difficult to judge as I went there specifically to move a single seat closer to a group of seats we already have.

It depends what your requirements are, I guess. There was a chap in front of me who was lucky enough to get 4 seats together although I’m not sure what stand that was in.

If you’re after moving a single seat then you might get very lucky. I’m sure I even overheard people giving up really good seats just for a change of scenery/view.

You said there were 4 people behind the counter( I see I'd left a "I" in my when I quoted you, so if that's what your misquoted comment refers to it was an oversight when editing and appreciate it looks like 14. But my comment around those fortunate enough to reside around Burnley are being given the opportunity to seat swap when the rest of us are being ignored. I've left a voice message and got through on the phone 23 times but yet to speak with anyone.
Therefore i think its safe to say that of 4 people dealing with this, thee club have tasked NONE to answering the phone.
They may well have announced seat swaps could only be administered by visiting the ticket office in person, they wouldn't do that because of the potential negativity, but that's essentially what's gone on.

As I have said on here before, be careful with what you wish for.
It’s like buying a house check out the neighbours first before you change places.

Just rang up after giving it a few hours for people to move their seats from where I wanted and got 1 sons moved a row behind mine (N) on Block 5 of North Stand Lower. 2 seats away from being inline with the half way line so happy with that.

Took about 15 seconds to ring through. Just press 3 when the automated message starts to bypass it abit quicker.

Finally got through and secured a seat three rows back from where my current seat is, so hopefully I now don't have to contend with the crossbar and net when trying to see next season! 🤞

Took a while to get through, but the guy on the phone was very helpful in what sounded like a very noisy ticket office!

Re: Seat Swaps - How does it actually work?

Post by Rileybobs » Wed Apr 05, 2023 1:40 pm

Our group has 3 in a row and then another seat for my lad about 4 seats away which has been a bit of a pain in the arse. I fortunately managed to secure a seat which had become spare next to us giving us 4 in a row. I tried 57 times on the phone from 08:55, got through at 09:20 and then sorted in 2 minutes. They could have put a seat swap system online for non-renewed seats, but I don't know how a mechanism allowing people to swap directly with each other would work.

Can you arrange a swap for someone else, the guy behind me is insufferable. Another stand perhaps?

Oh I would pay extra to move the guy behind us, "GER IT FORRAD" " QUICKER, QUICKER" every 5 minutes, and then compliments the away team all through the match.

Sounds ideal for a seat in the away section.

Went in the TO this afternoon and the 2 girls behind the counter were quickly dealing with people requesting to move seats.
