Alex Crook admits he got it wrong…(kind of)

Post by jdrobbo » Fri Apr 14, 2023 5:51 pm

A nice ten minute piece here. Very complimentary generally. A sense of how exciting next season could be if VK is backed further.

I’d never heard of him until Burnley fans started doing what he wants and sharing his Talksport clips.

More than happy to never see another Talksport clip again in my life. It’s low rent ********.

Only time I listen to TalkBollocks is when I’m driving home after the match.what would Stan call them? Claptrappers Union ,or something like that ,love to hear the sound of their own voices ,like Simon Jordan ,who now writes in the Mail ,and only says things to wind people up,Could do with a modern day Granville Shackleton,or a Keith Mcnee.

Yes Keown talks a lot of sense, Kompany should stay where he is, whatever happens next season he is a winner. A move to Tottenham and Levy at this stage is nonsense

Don't really know who this guy is, but it seems a lot of BFC fans have got sand in their knickers just because he wrongly predicted that we may have a troublesome season which could lead to further financial problems.

Crook is an angry little ****.

You could see his annoyance at people not agreeing with him. Bell end.

He and Goldstein went a little overboard with their comments about the financial situation at the club, without any real knowledge of what was going on. However they were not the only ones, but the others don't get as much grief on here.

I don't particularly like his presenting style, or his non existent transfer news, but at least he's made his way in radio the old fashioned way, starting at the bottom, unlike those being given jobs nowadays.

Isn’t he the guy that reported the “you are not a loan” story?

Yes. He reported that obvious Michael Jackson joke off twitter as genuine football news on live radio, making out he'd heard it from more than one of his "sources" which does a good job of establishing what his "sources" are.

He also said live on air that Josh Brownhill could leave for free last summer.

I don't feel anything towards him but jealousy tbh, I'd love to be a "Chief Football Correspondent" for national radio as I imagine it pays pretty well and has a lot of perks. And if he's anything to go by I'm massively overqualified for the role.

I was mowing the grass last year, we were still fighting to stay up. He said "what have Burnley contributed to the premier league, then had a pop at Barnes for his goalscoring contribution.

He was sniggering at Dyche and us.

TBF Darren Bent was shocked about what he said.

Classic Talk ***** Mart Keown - Will he be backed in the market? We know Burnley can't sign anyone at the moment because of the embargo.

Yep spot on Martin, also, the window is closed so no one can. One too many high ball headers for him.

Crook seems to think spurs is a good idea.

Sam whatshisface doesn't - fair play most sense he has ever made.

The other guy is clearly a Burnley fan, no idea who he is but fair play to him.

UTC.

Half of those getting wound up by him probably wrote exactly the same thing on this board last summer.

Why can't people understand that modern journalism relies on thick people getting annoyed to generate clicks on social media. Best to just ignore and move on.
