EPL

Just thought I'd remind some of the miserabilists on here that next season we'll be playing our football in the EPL. UTC.

Just watched MOTD and what a game for Bournemouth at Spurs. Seriously can’t wait for next season and hope we can deliver a result or two like that in one of those stadiums.

Are you sure? I was under the impression promotion had been revoked due to playing an under strength side, and not winning yesterday.

The only comfort I'm able to take from having to give up my season ticket next year (due to new job shift patterns not fitting in with one) is that I won't have to put up with VAR on a weekly basis.

Bournemouth are showing us the way,we can easily finish mid table in the Premier league there really is some dross in that league..the likes of West Ham Everton & Leicester can't wait to see how next season pans out.

I don't agree it will be easy, but we can certainly finish mid-table with good recruitment in the summer window, Bournemouth look likely to stay up now and we beat them handily in the cup.

Worth adding since we beat Bournemouth they recruited massively in January (80m spend) and look to have spent in really well. The lad who scored their winner yesterday Outarra looks superb. Just highlights the importance of recruitment for us (which we and Kompany already know).

Yes this forum is surprisingly downbeat considering we've ripped up the Championship, and strolled to promotion with games to spare.

Nobody is denying we'll face a tough examination next season, that will always be the case in the PL, but we've shown enough to suggest we can at least compete with the lower half sides, and for those worried about the prospect of relegation it's worth noting 2 others will be joining us, likely Sheff Utd and whoever emerges from the play-off lottery, and on the evidence of this season we are way ahead of at least those 2 sides anyway.

There was always going to be a knee jerk reaction to yesterday.
We all wanted the record, we started a team that looked like VK wasn't bothered about records (disappointing, but I can see it from his pov).
I got over it very quickly, but it's sad if posters can't voice their frustration.

Of course there are the handful of usual suspects who go way OTT in their criticism. But who in their right mind takes any notice of them anyway.

Viktor Gyokeres is the obvious one who fits the bill, but he might be out of our reach sadly.

If we could somehow get him he'd be an ideal signing in our system, and he looks like he could make the step up to the PL, can never be certain of course, but I'll be surprised if he's still at Coventry next season, especially if they remain in the Champ.

We need Luton or Millwall to come up with Blades, that would hopefully be 2 relegation spots taken. Purely on lack of financial input, not dissing their teams. Then the usuals down the bottom end and one of them should go.
Don’t be setting sights to high based on this fabulous season. A bit of realism is needed.

City or Arsenal for the Title?
I really want City to win it over the southern cockney London mob.

I can only speak for myself but the record wasn't top pf my priorities, and we've experienced an amazing season overall.

Always tough for managers over when to give fringe players minutes, but yesterday was probably the right call by VK to give some the chance to stake a claim.

Unfortunately not many impressed to give VK any selection headaches going forwards, and nobody will have the Reading game in the season highlights that's for sure, however given all the brilliant footy we've had the privilege to witness this season I'm not going to go overboard about a game that had a real end of season feeling about it.

Not the first game recently where we've looked toothless up front mind you, Blackpool and Sunderland immediately spring to mind.

However even without being anywhere close to our usual levels we still were comfortably the better side, it was just one of those days when we lacked the final ball, or weren't clinical in our finishing.

Good to see that some of our resident cry babies were out in force last night after we continued our unbeaten run with a point away at Rotherham. Pathetic and embarrassing.

I’d like to hit 100 points, just because that’s always looked impossible for a Burnley side.
I enjoyed last night though, and also think Rotherham (as poor as they are) did a Burnley and nicked a point like we used to do in the Premier league to sides that dominated us with far better players and a much bigger budget

The criticism after Reading I could understand as we were poor on Saturday, but last night we played well and if we hadn't conceded 2 soft goals we'd have won easily.

If our fans can't embrace this season in all it's glory when we are breaking countless club records and entertaining most weeks then I despair from them next season in the PL if or more likely when we have a barren run.

2 defeats in 42, and 2 terrific unbeaten runs, and it's now a surprise when we draw let alone lose.

Oh! well roll on Saturday when all being well we'll seal the title.

I've no excitement over going back in to the EPL whatsoever, the most corrupt league in the world.
Hopefully some exciting signings change my mind over the summer but this season has been the best for a good 7/8 years

The cry babies will be in meltdown while stinking the whole place out. And I mean it 100% when I say they are an utter embarrassment.
