Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I had a regular on here who for no apparent reason took an exception to me, and started responding to my posts with a real nastiness. Thankfully other members jumped on it at the time.
I didn’t complain, I just let him hide behind his keyboard. Fellow members could see him for what he was, and that was enough for me.

Foot Mercato:
“Crowned best Ligue 2 player at the UNFP Trophies, Georges Mikautadze (22, Metz) ended the season with a fine record of 24 goals and 8 assists in 38 matches in all competitions. His performances did not go unnoticed. As explained on our site, AC Milan was seduced. But the departure of Paolo Maldini has cooled this track for the moment.
On the other hand, Burnley, who will evolve in the Premier League, is always on the spot. Vincent Kompany, who has exchanged several times with the player to explain his project to him, is very interested. It is even one of his priorities. The English team hopes to win the bet. To be continued“

With this lad and verbruggen, both players kompany wanted last summer, he clearly has his targets and no doubt in next week we will see some movement, like a poster said further up when 1st July hits and new contracts start that’s when the window really kicks into gearClaret Alfie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 10:31 amFoot Mercato:

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
He's pulled out of the Georgian U21 team because he feels he needs a rest before the start of next season. One for the future maybe but with the fees being quoted of around 15M you'd expect a player who's going to walk into the team. His style is described as atypical according to les-transfers.com, good technique combined with great acceleration and very accurate shooting, with those attributes it sounds like he should be a world beater and doing better than 24 goals in 38 games. The previous season the top scorer in that division was Former Cardiff, Newport, Torquay and MK dons player Rhys Healey who had the best season of his career with 20 goals.Claret Alfie wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 10:31 amFoot Mercato:

Back to the football he looks a talented individual. Not sure whether he’s a striker that leads the line or someone that needs to play alongside another

Can somebody please set up a new forum just for all those people that have nothing better to do than argue and bicker all day long. You are absolutely ruining this site.

Jakub seems to be the brunt of it…. There’s others too but Jakub gets plenty. Doesn’t matter what he posts, as soon as he does there’s a group that just jump all over him at every opportunity and guide it to a certain place. They think they are coming at it from a higher place, but they fail to see how they are acting themselves. They are bullies.

Totally agree. This thread will get locked soon I’d guess, but it’s a really important topic for discussion.bobinho wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 1:03 pmThere are a few posters who still do that today.

Agreed. It’s absolutely exhausting!
You logon, see there’s another 50-100 posts on the thread, thinking there must be a transfer development. Oh no, just more childish bickering!
Genuinely, if there was another clarets site that provided the same level of articles and users I’d be using it instead.

If you think the thread will get locked, stop taking it off topic. Have the discussion somewhere else if it's something you feel so strongly about?
Would be nice if this thread actually stayed live, for obvious reasons.
Pathetic on here at the moment.

Posts complaining about the bickering are worse than the bickering posts themselves. At least watching the bickering is sort of car crash entertainment.
Let them argue amongst themselves until they get fed up with it on their own.

Look folks, most of us are guilty of replying to posters we don’t particularly warm to in a less than friendly manner on here. We shouldn’t but it’s par for the course of an anonymous internet forum sometimes. A quick search of the users posts talking of bullying reveals they themselves aren’t saints on here.
Let’s just agree we can *all* be more pleasant to each other and leave it at that. It really is about time this thread was used for transfer stuff now.

Absolutely spot on, you only have to exchange a few words of disagreement & the bickering complaints get raised at the drop of a hat, all I can say is that some people have lived in sheltered existences if what they think actually constitutes bickering I'd dread to think what a heated argument would be described as.distortiondave wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 2:25 pmPosts complaining about the bickering are worse than the bickering posts themselves. That’s the question mark with obafemi too I think, never played wide until parts of games last season and his best football at Swansea where in a 2 up topNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 12:36 pmBack to the football he looks a talented individual. I think at Swansea Obafemi was actually playing on his own up front with Piroe in a number 10 role for quite a while, which worked out well for both.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 2:47 pmThat’s the question mark with obafemi too I think, never played wide until parts of games last season and his best football at Swansea where in a 2 up top
Whether or not he could do that in PL is another question, especially as VK didn’t award him much game time.

However, there is one poster who jumps on anything I say, iam sure she just reads the user name, and not what is being said
I just remember that in real life Lancaster would never say what she does, if she didn't have a keyboard and anonymity between her and me
In better news a couple of signings should become clearer next week.

Most people even probably rub shoulders in the same pubs in match days. It seems as though the anonymity that being behind a keyboard brings, makes people say things on here that they wouldn’t dream of in real life.

I’ve often thought there should be a sticky with a glossary of linked usernames.
Be good to know which posters create a new name every time they finally cross a line and either get banned or they end up on everyone’s foes list and stop getting the attention they crave.

It might well of been, Piroe is naturally a striker so obafemi playing in front of him or with him, still seemed better suited then our style, suppose this is what pre season is going to be about for players like obafemiksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 3:11 pmI think at Swansea Obafemi was actually playing on his own up front with Piroe in a number 10 role for quite a while, which worked out well for both.

I think it's a bit of everything, the written word can be misinterpreted very easily - I know I've got the wrong end of the stick and taken things the wrong way plenty of times on here and I know people have misunderstood what I've meant plenty too, it's just a shame people jump on each other so quickly. Some easier than others because the clubs want to sell and the players want to come
In Tellas case only one of the criteria is filled at this time
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I get the impression Obafemi is a very short term investment. We got him on the cheap in the end. I think he’ll be a squad player in the coming season, maybe bag a couple of goals before being loaned out next season in the championship and sold of for a tidy little profit. He looks like he could be a very successful championship player to me at least.ksrclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 3:11 pmI think at Swansea Obafemi was actually playing on his own up front with Piroe in a number 10 role for quite a while, which worked out well for both.
