Wouldn't rule out a last minute approach for Maatsen. Not claiming to be ITK, this is just a hunch. Poch is said to be wanting him around to look at him, but there's also the fact that Chelsea's executives have a massive overhaul job on their hands this summer, virtually as big as the one we had last year, and the window will be really busy for them, in's and out's. There are loads of things to consider for Chelsea so far as moulding and shaping the squad is concerned, and this naturally slows everything down because there are more moving parts to the machine so to speak. If they can't offload Cucurella (who wants to stay at Chelsea by some accounts) Maatsen will be 3rd choice behind him and Chilwell. Why would Chelsea pass up on money for a player they're clearly not 100% committed to? I can envisage a scenario towards the end of the window where Poch says 'seen enough now, sanction Maatsen to leave'.

And I can envisage one where BFC management says "thanks but that ship's sailed now and we're sorted"

From what I've heard I think at least 3 of those are coming in.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 7:09 pmI predict we will get the following in the building over the next two weeks :

Looking back at the previous owners and manager a few days before the window shut they would be trying to sign a 6th goalkeeper, a 38 year old striker and a League 2 defender for a couple of million whilst not having any wingers or enough midfield players. Count your blessings.

Sources down here saying Johnie Evans could be going to Everton. Whilst injury prone he would be free and maybe emphasises Everton's financial issues. They really are relying on free transfers as per Ashley Young

I'm suggesting we won't wait till the last minute on a whim of Poch's... I tend to think we'll have the position sorted by then.

The thing going in our favour re Maatsen, is that his defensive weaknesses would really be magnified in the Chelsea defence. Just cannot see him featuring in that squad or even getting remotely close to the starting eleven. I suspect he will either join us soon, or he will get loaned to a Championship side again like Coventry or maybe a promoted team like Luton

There’s a picture of him playing today. Keep trying to add it but it’s proving impossible.

It would really p1ss on Sean's chips if Garlick used his Burnley sale money to buy Everton .

I know this has probably already been mentioned elsewhere but that kit is the closest we've ever come to looking like Villa.

The kit looks a lot better "out in the wild" it has to be said though
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Looking like Ndiaye will be off to OM soon enough.
Sheff Utd really are up the creek. Losing their talisman and not a single signing so far.

Whereas we’ve lost Tella and Maatsen and the only player we’ve signed that want with us last season is our new 3rd choice goalkeeper.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Ekdal is looking much leaner in that picture, I think. Hope he's getting a really good preseason because, like others, I feel he could be a key player for us.

Would we as fans consider that to be a good transfer window if we pull that off? Including the signings we've already made? I for one would be very happy.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 7:09 pmI predict we will get the following in the building over the next two weeks :

I get it that this thread is about discussion of possible transfers, as well as transfers, but could we please refrain from discussing players ALREADY on contract.

I would be , but ideally prefer another CH with more physicality than THB, I think VK does too hence his preference for the player from Dortmund.
THB was brilliant for us , but for big money and supposed potential I don’t think showed the command and strength that Cahill and Collins did for us.

Just seen the photo of Ekdal, I think it’s fair to say that he looks quite warm for someone who’s been FROZEN out.

It's not actually a thread about transfers Circus, it's a thread of about 10 to 15 posters trying to show how clever they are about tactics and how in the know they are about what's going on behind the scenes. Completely hopeless.Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 11:28 pmI get it that this thread is about discussion of possible transfers, as well as transfers, but could we please refrain from discussing players ALREADY on contract.

Sorry, it was for a matter of seconds then.
The starting lineup today is what we will go with vs. City unless we get players in who are fit.
Ekdal won’t be one of the two centre halves.
Beyer & Al Dakhil will be the two staters.

Why bother to put links on here when you can just read people moaning about people putting links on here?

Strange, but consequently we could be weaker than we were last season, although I doubt it, and certainly hope not. Still possible that we could bring these 2 back in, but I'd think it will cost us at least £30m, but maybe vk can come up 2 that are cheaper and just as good.agreenwood wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 10:22 pmWhereas we’ve lost Tella and Maatsen and the only player we’ve signed that want with us last season is our new 3rd choice goalkeeper.

I’d love THB back but it’s the one position where we look strong, so assuming that our budget isn’t limitless I think the money needs spending in centre mid or more specifically a goal scoring centre forwardHedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2023 7:09 pmI predict we will get the following in the building over the next two weeks :

Was 20 when he started with us and not 100% up to the Championship physicality and intensity 6 months later he was the first name on our team sheet, got injured and luckily for us Beyer more than stepped up
and Al Dakeel stepped in seamlessly
I would think THB will get physically stronger every year for the next 8 years or so
