So with this Dodi bloke and Ramsey we’re looking at another 25m on top of the already circa 80m spend. If Odobert comes off we’re looking at a total of 115m spend and that’s before a left back!
It doesn’t matter how much is spread over the life of the contracts that is a significant chunk of change, especially when our wages will have gone up significantly.
Just where is the money coming from?!?
We haven’t spent all of the £115million this window
A lot of that money is spread out over 3/4/5yr payment terms, that’s the standard way transfer fees are paid.
We made a lot more than we spent last summer and saved a fortune on wages, so our kitty was built up for this summer.
We’re also potentially going to sell some this summer and that will offset some of the spending
Our owners have been working hard to increase the clubs revenue streams via various methods including better sponsorship deals etc
We’ll have to wait until the accounts are released in a couple of years but we’ll probably see a revenue increase in some aspects.
They’ve been derided on here in the past, but our owners are money men, they’re used to handling large amounts of money and finding ways to increase said amounts of money.
They’ve now built up a squad of young, exciting players that can be sold for big amounts of money
As Will Lancaster said on the twitter post I linked earlier, we have a lot of players with big resale values now and that’s a very good position to be in
