Bury FC
Sky Sports app saying Bury FC and Bury AFC have agreed to merge and play at Gigg Lane as Bury Football Club.
Good luck to them.
Good luck to them.

Re: Bury FC
Seconded. I used to go on Gigg Lane if we weren’t playing. Wish them every success.

Re: Bury FC
They have indeed. Been chatting to my Bury supporting friend tonight about it.
Apparently the group that owns Gigg Lane but has no team applied to the NWCL and were rejected. This prompted a change in attitude and they decided to agree to another vote. Those still dissenting were told to either resign or pass the vote.
He is disappointed that they didn't resign as he thinks they may still cause trouble from within. Chances are they will stay away and sulk though.
He's naturally delighted to be going back home next season.

Re: Bury FC
Good to hear.
Surely there's far more that unites them than divides them.
Hope to see them thriving soon.

Re: Bury FC
It's been a sad state affairs to be honest. With no club playing, a group of people started Bury AFC to ensure football was still being played but the supporters group from the old club wouldn't support them. They were forced into the merger to get some funding and it's taken two votes to get it to happen.

Re: Bury FC
AFC very unlucky not to get promoted this season they had to play a crazy amount of fixtures late on .With a few £ they could have walked the NPL 1 . Still it’s good to see football back at GL .

Re: Bury FC
Time will tell - for the time being they are going to have to put their differences behind them and concentrate on getting out of the NWC Premier Division. They wouldn’t have walked NPL1 West this past season had they been at that level with Macclesfield to contend with and the likes of Workington Runcorn Leek contesting the play-off.AlargeClaret wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 8:49 amAFC very unlucky not to get promoted this season they had to play a crazy amount of fixtures late on .With a few £ they could have walked the NPL 1 .
