Rovers miss out on the playoffs on GD - Hand of Barnes

Post by Milltown1882 » Mon May 08, 2023 4:54 pm

Just leaving this one here  who knew how big Barnes’ big save would end up being a few weeks later!

Perfect scenario seeing them miss out on goal difference.

Love it, KARMA calls. If Carling did Saturdays this would be right up there with the best

If only that was true, but still a good way for them to miss out

Didn't see it myself, but someone over on the brfcs board
saying that Brereton Diaz has stated on Sky that he's played his last game for Rovers today.
Not a huge surprise, was expected to leave.

Let's not forget also that we turned in a really poor home performance against Sunderland in the 0-0 which (arguably) gave them the point that they needed to get into the play-offs.

Also remember the sh!those point Sunderland got at the turf when they wasted loads of time? That cost Rovers a playoff spot

If it was accidental, as I think it was, then he is no hero because he didn’t intend it.
If it was intentional then it was stupid because Muric had it fully covered and he could have cost us two points.
Either way it’s not in any way ‘heroic’. If we are going to beat Rovers I’d prefer to do it without cheating. I don’t think bragging about that incident is the way forward. I’d rather shout about his great performance at the Turf against them.

Karma for Dunn's offside goal, Olsen's dive, last man tackle on Ings and the fluke own goal off Duff.

I'm sure Barnesy will get a cracking reception on his return to Ewood next season.

Dunn was so offside it can only have been some sort of Masonic Referee’s agreement to allow it.

More that time passes the further offside he gets in my minds eye
