Re: Stewards
They were never going to stop anyone
I saw 1 man telling a young asian steward how he wasnt going to stop him getting on, at the 90th min
Goading him

Aye, kids you can understand, but some around us really were old enough to know better. And aggressive with the stewards, really not acceptable.

That was my point really.
If they're not going to try and stop anyone, why bother having them there?

Don't get paid nearly enough to risk getting a smack off a coked up idiot and I would really doubt they have the training to be handling children.

Re: Stewards
There’s no pint them lining up along the full length of the longside if they weren’t going to even attempt to stop them running on.
What they should have done with those that ran on was stop them returning to their seats and shepherd them out of the stadium via the JM/JH corner

It took long enough for the players and staff to return thanks to the dicks who decided to go on the pitch.

Re: Stewards
It's really simple to stop..when Iived in South Africa and regularly went to the cricket games there. They had half a dozen dogs around the perimeter every game.
There were signs saying if you encroach the pitch, the dog will be let off, then you'll get arrested..guess what..not a single pitch invasion all the time I was there

Re: Stewards
Plenty of dickheads around us today. A couple I had to tell to stop standing on the seats as we couldn’t see, only to be ignored only for him to be told to get off the seats again which then caused a hit of an argument.

A few 100 kids celebrating ( totally harmlessly) a great season and title yet STILL the curmudgeons moan and groan . There was an old sunbed queen ( male) who was hysterically shrieking swearing , gesticulating centre of block 5 Longside who was lucky nobody had more than a word with him .
It’s a harmless bit of fun , no fighting or aggro involved .

Why do adults want to run on the pitch dragging their small child by the hand along with them….and then when they get to the middle they have an obvious “err what do we do now” look about them……..harmless fun or not, idiots the lot of them…imho

Nobody invading the pitch had a brain cell, The Football Club requested everyone to stay in their seats, are they all just dim and stupid?Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 8:56 pmParents were running on WITH their kids, I don't think they had a brain cell between them.

Re: Stewards
People are just plain selfish. They run on the pitch because they want to and that is all that concerns them. Their whole lives are probably based on looking after number one and having no thought for anyone else. Sad.

The presentation would have happened even if the fans stayed on the pitch for half an hour.
I found it more embarrassing people booing people celebrating.

Plenty of people celebrating without feeling the need to run onto the pitch, which they were specifically told not to do.

Re: Stewards
Pitch invasions have always been a great Burnley tradition and I personally love them. Not done it myself since 2014 but how can anyone forget 1987 and 1998?
They were iconic moments but I guess the killjoys will have their day. According to a Rovers mate they never invade their pitch. They wouldn’t would they!

Re: Stewards
The problem for me with those running on the pitch is it also stops the players celebrations on the final whistle.
Those not in the match day squad were by the side of the pitch by the tunnel and ran on expecting to celebrate with the rest of the squad.
The nights at the Riverside and Ewood were fantastic as we had spontaneous celebrations with players with no pitch invasion

It's what every team does, what's the harm ? It's all good in the end.
