How many thousands attended the parade ?
Figures online saying 40k.
If that’s correct then that’s blew my head off and unbelievable support.
Couldn’t make it due to working away, for those that did make it how many would you say was there ?

Hard to gauge, I’d have said almost 20k though, then again could have been a lot moreClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Wed May 10, 2023 5:06 pmFigures online saying 40k.

Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
It certainly seemed far busier than a normal match day which is circa 20k. I understand people can move about but it seemed busy, as it should the players, the staff and the board deserve it.
Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
Watching on youtube last evening it looked like a lot more than 20k ... so talk of 40k is not ridiculous ... looking at the balcony views of the streets it was a sea of people in all directions ... then the folks lining the bus route ... bloody amazing Burnley ...

Beat me to it, there'd be 16 million at least packed into the Elland road car park.

Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
It felt a lot more packed than 2016, and further up towards the ground before the bus arrived too.
I’d have said definitely more than 30,000, but less than 40,000. What the actual figure was is hard to say, but you’d be surprised how many people are actually in crowded areas.
Example: 600 Swansea fans at Burnley this season. There doesn’t look that many at a glance.

Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
Seemed a lot more than 2015/16 and previous one's, which at the time if I remember was talked about 30,000, so wouldn't be surprised if there was actually 40k, absolutely phenomenal for the size of the town, makes you wonder at the successful times like this, how many we could pull into turf moor if we had the capacity, surely there must be discussions going on regarding this.

Just think how many we've taken to Wembley for play-off finals and 30,000 plus is possible.

Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
I believe everyone that went to the Colchester game in 1986-87 was there. So yes, 40k would be about right.

Certainly felt a lot busier than the last few promotions, I was going to say a conservative estimate would be......but we need a degree accuracy
Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
Being in the middle of it, I'm surprised it was ONLY 40,000 that is the number being given.
Unbelievable atmosphere!

Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
There was certainly a lot there and it felt like more than previous years. But let’s not forget, it would have been a lot more had 20,000 not lost out in the ballot!

Re: How many thousands attended the parade ?
The bloke doing the interviews at the Town Hall did his best to spoil the night by getting everything wrong.
The majority of the crowd were made up of young fans who wanted to see their heroes, but he decided on boring interviews instead of making it just a couple of questions to a relevant few. All players should have been introduced to briefly come out onto the balcony so they could acknowledge the crowd, and for us to give them a cheer.
He announced that we won our final game on Saturday against Coventry, then gave out the wrong bus route and finally told the masses that it was over at 6:40pm and the crowd quickly dispersed. Unfortunately, that wasn't it, the squad were then presented with the trophy on the steps of the Town Hall with around 200 watching.
Whoever he was, he was no doubt trying to make a name for himself, but cocked it up!

Started out on 2br.- remember that? From memory they had a competition to find commentators for Burnley games (they had coverage for a while) and he won. Does the cricket for BBC and is decent.

A slip of the tongue with the Coventry/Cardiff mistake which is easy to do - he isn’t the first and wont be the last to do something like this.HuncoatClaret wrote: ↑Thu May 11, 2023 5:26 pmThe bloke doing the interviews at the Town Hall did his best to spoil the night by getting everything wrong.

Apart from that, he did a good job. It wont have been up to him what the scheduling was and he was probably only reading what he was given. I’m not sure why you have so much negativity towards him….
He’s a huge Burnley fan who travelled to every game prior to getting the radio gigs at 2BR and now Radio Lancs. He’s extremely good at his job and, as SHP says above, he gives excellent coverage of the cricket and has been invited into the TMS commentary box at times over the last few years. A great lad and someone who excels at his profession.

ChatGPT - summarise this thread.
This message board thread discusses the attendance at a parade, likely celebrating a sports team's success. The original poster mentions that online figures suggest 40,000 people attended the parade and expresses amazement at the support. Other users provide their own estimates, with one suggesting around 20,000, another claiming at least 3 million (likely a joke), and several others mentioning that it felt busier than previous parades. There are some humorous comments and discussions about the event, including remarks about a radio commentator who may have made some mistakes during the interviews. Overall, the thread captures the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding the parade attendance and celebrates the team's achievements.

Judging by social media, there was lots of families there that you wouldn't call regular Clarets, all decked out in Burnley gear.
