Got to be up there with Tom Heaton for best free transfers the club has made this century.

That goal against qpr at home in the prem was a thing of beauty too. What a tidy player. One of Dyches master strokes was signing this lad.

Ryan Kent, Allan McGregor, Alfredo Morelos, Scott Arfield and Filip Helander will all leave Rangers when their contracts expire this summer
Scotty was a great influence in our success.
…and the reason for his number being 37 is a significant reason he’s so well admired!
Thank you Mr Arfield!

That goal & his charge up the pitch after are written in Clarets Folklore.

That goal and then the run down the full length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the darwen end is a thing of beauty as the gormless mouth-frothers look on.

Effervescent Arfield!
Tge most jubilant character. Must be great in the dressing room.
Achieved a champions medal and champions league.
Came on late for a game, this season and equalied then scored the winner, via added time.
Good luck for your next club, Scott.

“Two nutmegs and a bender” was how Gary Lineker described it on MOTD !! Love Scott Arfield …. An incredible free transfer signing who contributed so much for us. Had some real quality plus great attitude and with a touch more pace would have been a top player I think.blatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Tue May 23, 2023 2:53 pmThat goal against qpr at home in the prem was a thing of beauty too. Re: Scott Arfield
One of my favourite players in recent times. He had more technical quality than a lot gave him credit for and he was an absolute worker. He also seemed to have a knack for scoring important goals.
I don't think anyone could have predicted how well those 3 players would do for us, phenomenal business.

Also, it's the only name I think of with that song, although we try to shoehorn others into it. Always going to be 'Super Scotty Arfield'.
Bit like 'Jimmy Mullen' is the only rightful owner of the 'Claret and Blue army'.

Loved his goal and celebration when he score the late winner against Everton in 2016. Great technical skill and a riotous and exuberant celebration in front of the Longside.

One of my favourite Arfield moments too, last minute winner, no wild thrashing at the ball after it comes too him after hitting the bar either.Lord Beamish wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 8:10 amLoved his goal and celebration when he score the late winner against Everton in 2016. Not really. He did the job he was asked to do in the Premier League. Ok he was never going to be a stand out player at that level but that applies to a lot of Premier League players. He never let us down and technically was a fantastic footballer.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 8:47 amAbsolutely loved him

Re: Scott Arfield
He was always good for us , an absolute 100% Dyche player who ran himself ragged week in week out .He was good technically and great to see someone absolutely maximise their talent level by stepping up to the prem through sheer hard work. and great yrs for Rangers too playing in Europe etc
He used to train extra in Rochdale, early eve twice a week( privately )with a Muay Thai coach on his conditioning . He says Scotty was totally committed and sweated like a dog !

Re: Scott Arfield
All opinions but individually you could say the same about a lot of our team! And a lot of players in other teams. Teams always need certain players to do a job. I find this categorisation of players by reference to a league a bit misleading. He's championship standard, L1 etc. It's all about how a player fits in a team. And he slotted in to ours very well so I don't think it's fair to say he wasn't Premier League standard. He was! He played a lot of games at that level and didn't let us down.

Just that if you are pushing on, then he was one of those who would inevitably end up being a squad player (which is what every team needs) who could do a job if required

So similar to Elliots goal at Wembley, the ball just back to him creating the space for that sublime finish. Fantastic celebrations.
