If there are more members than tickets available (5%) imagine stumping up £250 not to be guaranteed of getting a ticket. In that scenario it could be said that "a fool and his money are easily parted".
Considering each member can get 2 tickets then these appears to be a lot of “effort” for not much revenue to the club

Even based on allocation of 3000, 5% is 150
At £250 that’s only £37500

I was going to say it's an ill thought out scheme, but the thought process appears to have been abandoned once pound signs appeared.

I fear I’ve seen my last Burnley game for awhile. Until relegation and tickets are readily available again.

Same here. I can't go to many anyway, but am certainly not joining some dodgy ballot to try to get a ticket.

If you want a ticket or two you'll get them.

Will 150 tickets being removed from a 3000 allocation really make that much difference?

The FAB giving it “only so much we can say until the club make a statement” so, the FAB seemingly being used to drip feed info to other fans, test the waters and make it more positive.

I did wonder what part the FAB played in this idea.

This is one of the problems when you listen to a small element of fans, even more so if they were selected through twitter. Some wanted something to change with away tickets it was inevitable that whatever the club came up with would be met negatively. I don't agree with this idea but don't actually think it will make much difference. If someone wants to pay £250 just for access to away tickets they might not qualify for then that's their choice. Nobody is being forced to sign up to this scheme so seems it a bit odd to moan much about it. For the fan wanting to pick 1 or 2 away games they aren't going to pay the £250 for those who think they will go to every game they will already be a season ticket holder you would imagine.

Remember once we lose a few games the clamour to be at every away game will ease for some, it will still be as it normally is if you really want a ticket you will get one but anyone thinking we will sell out the full allocation for every away game is wrong.

The elephant in the room regarding that is whether the club have a ballot for certain matches this season, like they did for the Rovers game.

In which case, no, not everyone who wants a ticket will get one.

I wonder if the foundation being discontinued then or there are going to be two priority ticket schemes running in parallel?

If there are 300, 500 or thousands of members then yes. Only needs 75 people to buy 2 and they’re gone, that’s not including premium who can get 4.

But I’m thinking of home games. I’m not paying 35 or 250 quid on the off chance I get a ticket.

I don't think there will be that many members, plus most of them will be season ticket holders who already go to games just buying an extra layer of security to be sure of getting a ticket

Why would somebody who doesn't go to away games now, suddenly pay 250 quid to suddenly start travelling to away games?

Already accepted I see much less of us in the Prem, so I try to cram in more games when we're in the Championship. This time that feeling is amplified with this tiered supporter superfan mechanism, of which I don't really see the point or appeal.

Tickets available to members would be 150 at most
To make it worthwhile joining, they would have to restrict the number of those joining to 100 at most, which generates £25k to the club which makes you think why are they doing it
(I did say in earlier post 150 members, but I don’t think it would be that many)

Far too many people are believing every single word/detail in the updates on twitter.

It really is very simple, if you pay £250 for membership you will be able to buy tickets for whatever game you want next season.

Last year they put every home game, bar Rovers, on sale at the beginning of the season.

Nobody will buy tickets for all the games. If you plan ahead, you will have plenty of choice.

Given how we were last season I imagine the appetite will have increased massively with the hope that comes with Kompany and this amazing total football team.

Wealthy people who may be based in the North or the south who see us having one of potentially the greatest managers ever and who might actually make us competitive against the better teams, so the prospect of getting tickets easily for the Etihad, old Trafford, spurs, arsenal etc. If you're even a teeny bit wealthy then 250 is nothing to be able to jump the queue of fans who have paid in for decades. As I've said before it may also attract the tourist or Fulham neutral types, who are loaded and fancy seeing the top teams play and this is a way to potentially get tickets for a lot of top games.

It's definitely an unknown but I don't see it as good PR for the custodians of our club, when away tickets in the premier league are generally in high demand for us Burnley fans. At least it's only 5%, for now...

And from seeing all the positive comments from city fans about their Messiah, I even think some wealthy city fans might consider getting this membership now we are by default their second team!

Tickets in the premier league were that high demand we normally took the lowest allocation, and didn't always sell that

A lot of the away tickets are bought for friends and family using season ticket holders points. They then pick and choose the games they want and reep the points either way.

Let's be honest. There isn't a fair system.

A system is judged fair if you get a ticket when you want one and unfair when you don’t get one.

Dave Baldwin always used to tell us that if you have 3,000 tickets with 6,000 wanting them then no matter which way you do it, 3,000 are disappointed.

Reap the points? It's 10 a game!

I think the points system is as fair as it can be, instead of 5% to 'premium members' I'd have liked to see a parent and child allocation instead for x%. Maybe even just he first 3 rows of every away end where an adult with enough points can get themselves and their kid a ticket (provided the child also has a season ticket).

Yes that's a fair point, but at least there is a link to a season ticket holder, a dedicated fan supporting over many years, and hopefully the ones with them are fans as well. I am being dramatic probably as maybe uptake won't be high, but like I've seen at the Etihad all the plastics who know none of the songs and get half and half scarves, makes the atmosphere crap. But hey what does that matter when we're bringing in additional money.

I read the primary market for this a southern based clarets who won’t buy a season ticket for home games because they won’t get to the games, but would like to go to away games down south. A sort of quasi-away season ticket if you like (whilst there isn’t a guarantee of a seat it seems like you’ll have a v good chance). I can see that it could give rise to some anomalies but given the numbers involved I can’t get too worked up about it.

As a London based Claret sounds like I should be buying one. I gave up buying a season ticket in 2016 for health reasons. I didn't make a single game to t'Turf that season. I only made two home games the previous season and rarely more than 5 times a season. I was at the ManU game, first game in the Premier League at Turf Moor in August 2009. I was also at the Spurs semi-final 2nd leg in the "capital punishment" League cup run - as well as being at Stamford Bridge and White Hart Lane for those earlier games. I was also at Stamford Bridge in the opening game when we beat them 2-3 - and nil-3 at half-time.

Assuming all the Premium Membership details work out as I hope I'll be taking in most of the London and south games this season. I don't mind putting £250 into the club for a better chance of buying a few tickets for games I can get to. Based on the ST prices thread, I'll be paying 75% of the price of the lowest priced adult ST of £335 (and no seniors concession) - and all I get for that is the chance to buy a ticket (or two) to a few away games.

I bought a membership online a week and half ago and still not received it,anyone got theirs yet? Anyone know if i can just go online and book match tickets or will i have a specific membership number rather than a Clarets number? As match tickets go on sale on Monday to the Premier members, theres been no mention of match day prices yet,not been great communication about this scheme to be honest

Just had email from club to confirm it is all home matches and not just Man City that are going on sale from tomorrow. Plenty of sold out games before the season starts I imagine.

So I live in the US and plan I coming over to burnley to see the march 4th match against Bournemouth (and who knows if we make a cup run maybe we play on the 28th! :). The international scheme is a few days before the general sale. Should I sign up for it or take my chances on getting a ticket for that match during the general sale?

On the website, going through the ordering process, if you select a seat the quotes are £50 for Longside and Bob Lord, £45 for Jimmy Mac upper, £35 for Jimmy Mac Lower; however, I bought a seat in the Jimmy Mac lower and was only charged £25 for an adult ticket, no concession..... so, who knows what the actual prices are?

Would have thought that you'd be ok in General Sale but I'd be happy to sort you out when they go on sale to ST holders if you want
