Re: Radio Lancs interview
It shows the shell in the Jimmy Mac. I’m told the upgrade is costing over £1.5 million but we’ve seen the positive pics of how it’s going to look. It was needed, as nice as it was in there it was all very classroom looking which for a number of years had been its main purpose.
Good to see the players entrance getting some work too, that corner of the ground looked a right mess.

Interesting that the Longside and Jimmy Mac are expected to last another 28 years. Don’t think that will please some folks on here.

Re: Radio Lancs interview
Doug got the years wrong - Longside opened in April 1996 and the Jimmy Mac early in 1996/97. Still 27 years so double that and it’s 54 years and that’s how long the cricket field stand has been open.ClaretCliff wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 1:44 pmInteresting that the Longside and Jimmy Mac are expected to last another 28 years. I'd be happy if they replaced the CFS, Longside and Jimmy Mac with a wrap around state of the art 28k capacity stand, but it wont happenClaretCliff wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 1:44 pmInteresting that the Longside and Jimmy Mac are expected to last another 28 years. Yeah it wouldn't be Turf Moor without it. Modernise it without affecting the aesthetic, and keep the wooden seats, but it needs to survive any revamp

Re: Radio Lancs interview
A great listen, thanks for posting Vegas.
Really pleased also to hear that the players entrance is getting a revamp, hope they go to town & make that brilliant.
Shame the changing rooms aren’t getting a refit, you can see they’re a way off premier league standards.
Tony’s point about the JM refurb costing £1.5m is interesting. Just what we need - incremental investment to maintain those two stands to high standards.
Hope at some point the yellowing side panels on the JM and Longside get replaced too.

Rebrand it the Robert Viscount stand, new roof remove the supports, the infrastructure behind would make putting another tier on it very expensive.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 9:23 pmYeah it wouldn't be Turf Moor without it. Re: Radio Lancs interview
I saw there were plans to replace the roof and add a further 10 to 16 rows onto the back with additional facilities in the void.
Wouldn't say no to that

Have doubts with the cracks in the concrete in the stairs and whether the shop extension now rules it outŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 10:14 pmI saw there were plans to replace the roof and add a further 10 to 16 rows onto the back with additional facilities in the void.
