I guess Jimmy could come in for Robinson. Tbh I would rather we played tongue
Think that's the only logical change available as long as Woody pulls up Ok after a long lay off.

But both are just about reaching 80mph
.
Anderson's taken 700 wickets by "" just about reaching 80mph""

Youre reading far too much into 2 games on a lifeless pitch.

There isn't a bowler in the country I'd prefer to be given the new ball at OT.

I'm one of Jimmy's biggest fans and he used to bowl 87mph in his pomp. I have no problem with him coming back in and Stokes has already said he will.

37yr Broad has performed very well, he was our only bowler left standing at the end of the first Test, when we needed them.
He has been plonked on the head numerous times while batting, 3 Tests in a row is hard for anyone and that's why they all get rotated.

I'm not picking the team, just stating all the evidence suggests Broad will be rested.

Broad on radio 5 mins ago making it clear he'll be playing at OT.

There's a week+ between tests and if they win this one, the series is still wide open. To 'rest' a key player would be barmy.

It would be absolute madness to leave Broad out if we win this test.

Other than when one of my horses runs, I can honestly say watching England in a run chase is the most nervous / tense I get in any sport.

Crawley gets in and gets out so no change there. To be dismissed by Marsh really is poor.

Aussies change the ball and it's started moving.

Outfield slowed down, but I thought the Aussies only had bad luck?

Such a frustrating player. Sees off Cummins & Starc then gets out to a very average bowler.

If they were paid by the word it would be a close call between Pietersen and Taylor who earned the most. The first hour was okay with Atherton on comes but now Taylor has arrived and he never shuts up.

A chunk of leather was sticking up between the seam and the umpire(s) chose to change it rather than snip it off.

He plays Cummins as good as any batter in the world, as he generally takes it into him.

He has a problem with the ball moving away like all our batsmen.

Tbf it's not only England batsmen who have a problem with the moving ball. I umpired at a fairly high level and a high percentage of dismissals were caught behind or at slip.

Other commitment this morning so just got in and seen the last 15 mins plus the wickets.

Can't argue with Starcs wickets of Duckett and Mo, absolutely beauty of balls.

Crawley, I am very critical of him, but a decent knock for him of 44 so credit where it's due, but a bloody bad choice of shot against a swinging ball.

Brook and Root seem very assured at the crease though at moment, let's hope they continue this after lunch.

Unfortunately he’s a bit of a bottler. He just never gets runs when we need him to

Joe Root has scored 11000+ runs in 133 matches at an average of 50.

The guy has done more than his fair share on contribution to England team over the years, he's plenty of credit in the bank.

He’s got a great average. Never pulls through in the big games when we need him to.

Look at stokes he averages 35-36 but at least when we need him to put in a big innings he does it consistently

Odds were stacked in our favour at start of play, but we still contrive to lose the game, we've all the time to just hit the bad ball but still insist on playing the outswinger, I'd say it's 50/50 at the moment, but as you say dcw, we just don't seem to be able to see out a session.

Joe Root must have terrible timing if he's made thirty 100s in Test cricket but none when we needed them.

Also was our top run scorer in the tournament when we won the World Cup too. Probably didn't need those runs then either?

Where was he in the final of the World Cup? The biggest game. Oh ye he bottled it again.

Root is now doubt a top top player but you can’t tell me he doesn’t bottle it in situations like this. He should be playing the innings that stokes has had to do in the last two.
