Re: Mbappe
In all seriousness, would love to bring him to the PL.
Re: Mbappe
Only city and madrid can afford
Re: Mbappe
I can't see that he's going to get a better contract, certainly not a more influential one away from PSG unless he ends up in Saudi.

Re: Mbappe
He goes to Barca, they win the ECL. He goes to Madrid, they win it.
He’s an absolute class act. Surround him with the best, that side becomes unbeatable.

Re: Mbappe
He wants Real Madrid, that was always the plan if PSG couldn't win the CL.
Re: Mbappe
Sounds like he's happy to run his contract down and go to Real.
Re: Mbappe
He’s been surrounded by the best his entire career at PSG, spent eye watering sums and been through about 30 managers, still can’t do anything in Europe.
He’s a fine player, one of the best but everything that is wrong with todays game is Mbappe. Out of control ego, think he’s bigger than any club, power hungry, disruptive mard arse.

I think he plays his best football off either flank, cutting in.
We already have better in those positions

Re: Mbappe
Agree. He comes across as a bit of a knob. PSG have paid him whatever he wants, built the side around him, signed who he wants them to sign, play how he wants to play - and he still kicks off every other week.KRBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:30 amHe’s been surrounded by the best his entire career at PSG, spent eye watering sums and been through about 30 managers, still can’t do anything in Europe.

He's a lazy, selfish player too. And with a massive ego. Struts around like he's been playing for years when he's a kid. Wouldn't be surprised if some older team mates have been tempted to lay one on him once or twice.

Re: Mbappe
Didn’t he even sign a contract wanting the executive decision on who the clubs manager was. Every week it’s something new with him, wasn’t long ago he was crying about his image rights being breached. Absolute minor things.Pickles wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 11:56 amAgree. I’d have Haaland all day every day over the Mbappe circus, Haaland loves his football, smile on his face, never in the media, a very good footballer who understands he’s being paid very well to play the game he loves.
I wish clubs would put up two fingers to disruptive players like Mbappe but his ability will ultimately get him whatever he wants.
Re: Mbappe
Something like that, definitely. It just wouldn't happen in other walks of life would it. Some kid rocking up and demanding the management gets changed. He'd be put on his arse. He's an excellent player but like you, I prefer Haaland.KRBFC wrote: ↑Sat Jul 22, 2023 12:13 pmDidn’t he even sign a contract wanting the executive decision on who the clubs manager was. A bit OTT that; a tidy player I'll grant you and I wouldn't complain if we signed him, but don't get carried away.... He's not Robbie Blake

I wonder if Newcastle fancy having a bid for this lad? Arab money seems to be burning a hole in Howe's pocket during this transfer window.

Re: Mbappe
If they didn't capitalise 'NEXT YEAR', us simpletons might misread the words and think it says something like 'banana' or 'aeroplane'. Then we'd be complaining to the poor newspaper that their headline doesn't make sense. They have to do this.claret2018 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 9:56 amWhy do all the thicko newspapers capitalise random words of a headline

Re: Mbappe
There is a certain level where it makes sense for all parties for him to do a year with the Saudi's, PSG get a wedge, and Mbappe gets to go to Real Madrid next Summer

I don’t think it’ll happen but if the best player in the world goes to Saudi; every other world class player will follow suit.

Re: Mbappe
Unbelievable Geoff!!!
It will certainly be interesting to see how this one pans out over the coming weeks. PSG obviously want the money for him, but ultimately the player holds all the cards as per usual.
I personally can’t see Mbappe going to Saudi at all, even if it’s just for a year, which leaves the whole thing in a stalemate, because no other team can afford £260 million plus the batshit crazy salary this Saudi lot are willing to pay him.
In my opinion, what the Saudis are doing cannot be good for the global game, with them seemingly having no checks and measures in place such as FFP to ensure something resembling fair competition. This takes ‘buying’ the game to a whole new level!

Re: Mbappe
They can only buy players though.
And those players can disappear into (very wealthy) obscurity for the duration of their contracts. We won't be seeing them play in any of the competitions that matter against any level of decent opposition. In fact we won't be seeing them play full stop because nobody cares about watching whatever it is constitutes the league or cup competitions in Saudi Arabia at a pace resembling a pre-season friendly in front of 4,500 people in the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium.

Re: Mbappe
The only thing that can be done to stop it is for UEFA clubs to say that players in the Saudi League won't be considered for internationals.
It wouldn't be enforceable legally, probably.

Is it really that much different to what the Premier league has been doing the last few years?Ampth7 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 2:05 pmUnbelievable Geoff!!!

Re: Mbappe
The world of football and it’s financing gets murkier by the day. I wonder how much Saudi owned Newcastle will manage to get for Saint-Maximin when he departs for the Saudi League?
Re: Mbappe
I know what you mean, but this is something else altogether! As annoying as it is seeing teams like Chelsea and City spend crazy money, even they do at least have to play by the FFP rules (yes, I do appreciate FFP isn’t perfect). A £260 million transfer fee plus £600 million pounds per year salary is way above Premier League transfer fees and salaries, all of which will be funded by an oil rich country that seemingly do not have to play by any rules whatsoever. These Saudi teams aren’t just buying success, they are buying the game in its entirety!

BID ACCEPTED
