could really really do with a shock Hibs win so Villa will rest a few against us but I suspect Villa will spank them

Would they really rest players against us when we are a much tougher opponent?

A red card early for Villa and a 2 or 3-0 defeat, then they might rest a couple knowing they have the 2nd leg next week.

they'll want to go far in Europe, I suspect they'll make plenty of changes tonight and play the first 11 against us - hence a shock Hibs win 'might' make them rest a few. I'm hopeful rather than expecting it !!!

Villa will definitely see that as a trophy they can win. Also with Emery's record in Europe he'll fancy it. Think he won the Europa League 3 or 4 years in a row?

What I find baffling with villa is getting rid of clearly two talented players archer and Ramsey, and having next to nothing on there bench. There xi is good but one are two injury’s there digging a bit.Burnley must have one of the strongest squads now away from the elite clubs, especially if these new lads come good we have so many options.

It’s the new FFP hack as it’s seen as max potential profit with sales from the academy.

Chelsea,City doing the same

It’s very bizarre it makes a sense now.The whole transfer of Ramsey was bizarre,in no way do I feel like he is our player.Would love to see the conditions of the transfer in the end.Lot of rumours but I hope we haggled a bit.

Bbc iPlayer, change your location settings to say your in Scotland and you can then watch bbc Scotland and watch the game, little loophole there it doesn’t show bbc Scotland when your location is set in England.

Not saying Villa aren’t a good team but it’s just Hibs are nowhere near the level, I’d say for a fact we would put 3 or 4 past Hibs, they would be bottom end Championship, be lucky to stay up.

Villa are a seriously good side. I'm not expecting anything when we play them, they've had a lot of time now with an elite manager, they've got a settled team and way of playing, and their post-Gerrard form last season was sensational. Our team is new to the league, we're still integrating loads of players, and they're all still so young. I can see us flying up the table in the second half of the season when it all clicks together (I feel that it eventually clicking together is inevitable, it's just a slow process), but for now, games like Villa will be really tough for us. Hibs play at a poor level, sure, but even against poor teams you don't usually kill two-legged ties off in the first 45 minutes if you aren't a serious football team.

Newcastle kept it down to 1-0 at the Etihad, which is basically the equivalent of going away and winning against any other European place competitor. I'm going with Newcastle good rather than Villa bad.

Villa created loads against them, Cash missed an open goal to put them 2-1 up, Newcastle were ultra clinical

Think they were 3rd in the form table since the World Cup break till the end of the season last year or since Emery took over.

It will be a very difficult game at the weekend - shame Hibs couldn’t push them a bit more

Surprised nobody mentioned the broadcast was hosted by Steven Thompson. Forever remembered for that goal at Reading in the play-offs. Looking a lot more clean cut than in his Burnley days.
