Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
Let's get this shite over with. Team to be picked at random from a bingo drum in 5 minutes. No streams tonight it seems. Diddums. Radio commentary like it's the 90s again. This nostalgia is the only interesting thing about tonight.
COME ON BURNLEY!!!
COME ON BURNLEY!!!

And goals as they go in on Sky
Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
I read that in a radio commentator's voice. The guy who says it is mid-30s, ever so slight American twang to his accent, he spikes his hair and wears points shoes, and he drops his t's and replaces them with d's when he says words like matter and later.

Is there any chance the ref could delay Ko to get as many fans in as possible?

Slowest 11 we could pick.
That really is a team built to lose.

Really surprised VK has gone for that eleven
It kind of says we are not interested in the cups this season

However when you look at that Forest team - we win!
Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
It shows how far we've come that a team that is by far one of the weaker ones we could have picked tonight is still better on paper than the best one we had about 18 months ago. (With the exception of maybe Tarky and Pope).burnley007 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 30, 2023 6:50 pmSlowest 11 we could pick.

This is my guess at the formation/lineup:
——————Muric
——-OShea-Ekdal-Taylor
Vitinho-JBG-Brownhill-Larsen
——-Redmond——Ramsey
———————Jay

Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
If Ekdal is fit to play why wasn't he at least on the bench against Villa?

Usual over reaction from the usual suspects. I'm really beginning to worry some people won't survive this year!

It might not it look an awesome team, but it has much more pegs in round holes than Sunday's starting line up.

Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
Might have to get used to seeing Taylor if we have no irons in the fire at left back after Maatsen seems to have slipped away.
Think a few of these lads will feel like proving a point and I think we will do well.
Come On!

Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
We should play 442, nobody will be expecting that.
Muric
Vitinho O'Shea Ekdal Taylor
Redmond JBG Brownhill Larsen
Ramsay Jay
Muric with a 100% pass completion rate to Jay's beautiful hair, who lays it off to Larsen who plays it though to Ramsay for a debut hattrick. Football is well easy I don't know why people overcomplicate things.

Let's get 3 up before they bring on Gibbs White and the Olympic sprinter up top.

Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
I think it’ll be
Muric
Vitinho O’Shea ekdal Taylor
Brownhill JBG
Redmond Ramsey BL
Jay rod
Or potentially a 3 at the back with Taylor as the third Cb.
Not actually such a weak side but compared to the bench we’re clearly not nearly full strength. Looks like the cup is being discarded slightly. Or at least used purely as a training exercise.

Re: Florist v Burnley - Match Thread
Some people will disagree here but I think it's pretty clear. For the same reason Trafford plays even though he looked uninspiring in preseason compared to big Ari, our selections have to be in part about profit margin now, it's baked into the finances of this model, so more expensive players have to play more to generate ROI. Ekdal was cheaper than a number of others therefore less need to raise his value.
I'm glad he's in. Do think we look a little vulnerable physically in midfield, and not sure we've much goal threat up top, but let's see. Would be happier with Foster and Benson over Redmond and Jay but here's hoping the squad players stake a claim.
