One of my first away matches this. Went down for the weekend with my brother and parents and stayed just outside central London. Went to the game on the Saturday then went into central London on the Sunday and saw Ian Wright in a red Ferrari.

I was only 7 so memory is a bit off but seeing Ian Wright stands out more than the game :D

What a start to the season for Stoke who didn't make the playoffs!

I'm sure I was there but can't remember a thing about the game.

I make it four Luton players who would line up in future for Burnley.

Four of them and three of them within two years.

I’ll be honest, I couldn’t remember too much about it either.

"and, wait for it, a message board which would enable fans to wish the team well."

Can't see this taking off

I remember being next to somebody with detailed knowledge of Scottish football who correctly identified Reid.

I was very impressed.

Reid was better than the infamous four but he was no great shakes.
