Don't think you'll get much opposition to that team. I'd like to see Benny brought on when we are 3 up.

O’Shea or Del Boy then or both as
He’ll probably not have Oderbert on the bench
I think he’ll play at Salford though

Think you might be right but I’m going to go for a mix of what I’d like and expect to see:

AAD
O’Shea
Beyer
Taylor

Massengo
Cullen

Benson
Brownhill
Koleosho

Amdouni

Think VK will want AAD right to deal with Rashfords pace.
Benson had United on strings at OT I thought, would catch them by surprise a bit I suspect.
Massengo also could surprise and May be necessary vs stronger opposition? Maintains Brownhill whose energy & experience I also think we’ll need.

Named 10 subs ( think there’s only 9 allowed and realised that as well as the 10th player that there’s Redmond, Cork and Ramsey also, not sure if Ramseys injured.
This proves why being in the cup for a genuine competitive squad like ours is so important as there’s a full team not starting in the league that are around the level of the starting 11.
In recent Premier League seasons we knew the starting 11 and the 3 or 4 players that might come off the bench
Now I think we have a potentially fully involved squad

Will be another interesting line up at Salford, no doubt another experimental one, but will still have to be careful.

I can’t see Roberts not playing
Berge for me has to play
I’d play Massengo in the cup at Salford along with Odebert again he looked good in the cup game at Forest

VKs selections in the first few games has shown he doesn’t think twice about mixing things up, but this is about a close a prediction as we could make at this point.

I've been very impressed with larsen when he's played. And yes, like your mixture of the young lads and the experience, looks a good mix, and jrod should be more than good enough to see off Salford, maybe a hat trick could be awaiting him.

Looks like plenty of us are happy with the back 4, as for the rest so many good options, but foster will be missed and berge has to be in am position for me.

Id actually like to see Beyer at RCB & Delcroix at LCB soon, but I think AAD will be beneficial here for his pace making recovery runs and keeping up with Rashford.

Haven’t seen anything of Trafford that makes me think he’s any better than Aro or has more to his game but Trafford will absolutely start.

Most seem to be on roughly the same page. I’m not convinced Amdouni will offer what we need in the number 9 position having seen how Foster has operated so far. The same can be said for Jay although I suspect he might be more natural in that role.

Pretty much agree but VK might start Delcroix instead of Taylor for his pace although I personally hope Charlie starts.

Yes, I can see your point with Amdouni. Not sure he’ll give us enough physically up top on his own so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jay start.
Taylor starts for me at left back after a really good performance at Forest and if Amdouni plays up top then Berge comes in alongside Cullen and Brownhill.
I definitely want to see more pace on the right because I reckon we can get at Utd on both flanks and JBG isn’t going to offer that same threat as Tresor or Benson.

Muric ( although I agree Trafford will start )
Roberts Al Dakhil Beyer Taylor
JBG Cullen Brownhill
Berge
Amdouni Koleosho

It's getting slightly easier to predict VKs team but it could still be 4 players out.

Trafford (should be Muric)
Roberts Al Dakhil Beyer Taylor
Berge Cullen Brownhill Koleosho
Tresor
Amdouni

Mix of pace and power. Berge in the JBG role worked well on Monday. Koleosho running across that static United midfield :o . Amdouni is I reckon our most natural finished since Andy Payton and I think he could end up at a major club like Real Madrid or Bayern because he has pace, finishing, skill and aggression. So he'll be fine up top.

Interesting that Man United shifted Rashford onto the right when they brought Garnacho on…

Wonder if they start like that against us? I’d hope so, in all honesty

Same team as Monday but Tresor in for Foster, got to get the team gelling together to many changes is no good other than cup games.

Shame we don't have Foster available.

I thought Trafford still looked somewhat shaky against Forest, and lacked command of his area for some set pieces. I would like to see Muric given a chance, but don't see that happening.

I'd be happy seeing that. My only concern is maybe getting caught in possession with that front 3/4 pushing forward. I'd be tempted to start with JBG again rather than Tresor as the only change from your team to keep things more solid in the first half.

At the end of last season I wouldn't have predicted Benson and Zaroury being absent from people's starting lineups four games into this season. Great recruitment at that end of the pitch.

When Berge came on the other night it was as a right sided 8.

People seem to have got confused between him playing as a 10 and winger (something the role naturally allows movement to).

The system was a 4-3-3 type with Cullen (6) and Brownhill (left sided 8).

Yup.

‘Inside right’ (haven’t heard that in a long time) im not so sure can describe any role in modern footy

I can see your point regarding JBG but if we play him in the position we played him at Forest, hogging the touchline and receiving the ball fairly isolated, it worked for the jet heeled Koleosho but JBG looked a bit lost
He hasn’t the pace for that, Tresor looked rapid and good with the ball at feet whilst on the move.
For me JBG can come on on either wing or more central if we’re trying to close a game out with keep ball.

A lot of people shoehorning Tresor in at right wing when he didn’t play a single game there last season (and only 3 times across the 3 seasons before).

Personally think we’re best introducing him for Koleosho around the 60 minute mark (or at half time) initially whilst he gets up to speed. JBG or Benson on the right.

I’d go

Trafford
Roberts AAD Beyer Taylor
Brownhill Cullen
Berge
JBG Amdouni Koleosho

Muric
O’Shea
Vitinho
Massengo
Cork
Benson
Zaroury
Tresor
Rodriguez

I'm sure I read that Ramsey was fit again, has no one any room for him even on the bench?
He was on the bench at forest.

Muric
O’Shea
Vitinho
Massengo
Cork
Benson
Zaroury
Tresor
Rodriguez
He did play there a couple of times last season and he's played as a 10 and on the right at Willem II in the Dutch league. Been through the youth academy as a playmaker so he can play about any attacking position. Don't see what JBG can do better than Tresor who looked about twice as fast vs Nottingham. Our danger mostly comes from the Koleosho side because he's able to go deep and make those runs with speed and skills to go past players. Tresor can bring the same on the right or they can switch sides from time to time.

This isn't a criticism but looking at the teams it's noticeable how quickly Benson and Zaroury have been overlooked.

Whilst I am and always have been a "fan" of JBG, he was arguably the one player who came away after Monday's draw without much credit. He wasn't great tbf and I'd be looking at a different option in that slot. Otherwise they all did well and I wouldn't change anything barring any injuries we don't know about and of course there's Foster who I suspect will be replaced by Jayrod.

One (or both) due to have a stormer from the bench, then the place will be theirs to lose.

Zaroury was unlucky to not get the start against City then obviously got sent off so has been knocked down the pecking order whilst Koleosho has really sort of seized his chance.

Benson I feel was made a bit off a scapegoat with the setup and role that was required of him against Villa.

When he came on against City they seemed very wary of him, he will have his time this year.
