Clarets Vs Newcastle
I just saw the line-up on the twitter feed and then it was deleted.
Anyway, COYC!Newcastle are in brilliant form and haven;t conceded in the last four games, so this is going to be a tough one.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Line up
Think they had Amdouni down twice in the orignal one.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Midfield looks much stronger with Cullen, Berge and Brownhill all there.
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Probably playing a bit narrower with just Koleosho out wide methinks.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
I think that’s a 3 in midfield and Ramsey wide left. Does indeed look narrow.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Koleosho left and Berge/Ramsey on the right?
I thought Ramsey would be in behind Amdouni, so Berge right?

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Reckon Ramsey will be on the right but drift infield with Berge drifting out there and lolloping down the right when that happens. Like the look of this team.

It'll be interesting to see who's playing on the opposite wing to Koleosho. I think Brownhill needs to have a good game today as well.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
433 with Berge and Brownhill either side of Cullen, and Koleosho and Ramsey either side of Amdouni. It may be flexible but I'd expect Ramsey to start wide right in broadly the role JBG has played, dropping deep to help create angles in build up.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Think Ramsey will play the JBG role so wide right on paper but a bit more narrower than Kolesho who I think will hug the left touchline and provide the width. Cullen and Brownhill deeper with Berge having the freedom to play more behind Adoumi.
Like the line up and only change I might have made is Zaroury for Berge giving Zaroury and Ramsey an interchangeable role. Away at Newcastle can understand why Berge is favoured and probably the right decision

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
As good as Koleosho and Amdouni are, we look light up top with that line up and will struggle to hurt them, if we go behind it will be hard for us.
We have a bench, but I'd rather we took the game to them, than have to chase it.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
I do agree about Amdouni being lightweight, especially when you consider the physicality Foster brings, but Amdouni is so clever on and off the ball that he can create and take those half chances. Just need to make sure we have the bodies supporting him.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 2:16 pmAs good as Koleosho and Amdouni are, we look light up top with that line up and will struggle to hurt them, if we go behind it will be hard for us.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Koleosho has to force Trippier back early on and maybe go past him a couple of times.
Let Tripps run wild and it could be a long day.

Will be interesting to see if we press Nick Pope into mistakes.

Luca running at Tripps could be very interesting.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 2:30 pmKoleosho has to force Trippier back early on and maybe go past him a couple of times.

Who do we have not available for selection?
Foster suspended until after today. Benson,Ekdal and JBG injured.

Afternoon from a very wet Galway , it's been lashing it down for about 7 hours and i have my own pool outside the front of the house , how nice .
Right then hard game but if we take it to them anything is possible .

Interesting line up.
Hoping for a win of course, but a point would be OK.

A fancy us getting at least a point.
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Who is captain?
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Redmond I think is injured and Delcroix not selected I assume
Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
Vital we weather the early storm as they'll come flying out the traps.
I can see this being out of sight after 20 mins but if we can hold out anything is possible.

Re: Clarets Vs Newcastle
A misunderstanding, i don't think Amdouni is lightweight, I really like him and he'll be a star, bur he can't do it on his own.burnleymik wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 2:25 pmI do agree about Amdouni being lightweight, especially when you consider the physicality Foster brings, but Amdouni is so clever on and off the ball that he can create and take those half chances. The early chance shows, we need to get bodies in the box, and apart from dead balls I don't see how that line up does it.
I'd happily be wrong.
