Zaroury
O’Shea

Jay Rod
Ramsey - not ready for starting imo

Benson if fit
Or
JBG if fit

Gone with O’Shea as I feel he’s more up to it physically in this one and used to a Championship style battle.

Hopefully we won't be engaging in a Championship style battle. That would play into their hands. I hope VK sticks to his principles and ethos.

Something like this. Maybe ADD for Delcroix. Trafford will start though because of the fee. Can’t be doing his confidence any good when we concede so many.

Trafford
Roberts
Taylor
Beyer
O Shea (think Al Dalkhil has now had one too many games where his mistakes have cost us goals and someone else deserves his chance)

Cullen
Brownhill
Berge
Zaroury
Larsen or Tresor

Foster

Think koleosho and Amdouni have both showed good potential but that others deserve a chance to start now. It’s very different trying to prove yourself when you come on as substitute especially when you are losing. You also have little time to get yourself into the game and a feel for the opposition etc.
When you have a strong squad / bench like we do then at some point players who seem pretty similar in ability and style need the opportunity to start and a run of a couple of games at least too.

I think VK will start with the same side as yesterday though - other than Foster with Ramsey dropping to bench.

Yeah I just think AAD could do coming out of the firing line a bit, maybe O’Shea in for reasons RVClaret outlined.

I’d like to see Beyer x Delcroix to see a natural right and left footer at the RCB/LCB positions respectively

We will 2-0 this week. Our hard run of fixtures is at an end next weekend and we will go into our game against Chelsea with a win at Luton. Absolutely confident.

Everyone's got an opinion but I for one feel Muric is a must in goal to add stability to the back four of five depending on what system. I may also be in the minority but I can't for the life of me understand why a player of Jack Cork's class is not an ever present in our sieve of a midfield.

Trafford
Roberts O'Shea Beyer Taylor
Berge Cullen Brownhill
Larsen Foster Koleosho

I'd go with O'Shea over Al-Dakhil for two reasons. Firstly, we could do with some extra physicality against Luton, and secondly, although he did really well against Man Utd, I've thought Al-Dakhil has really struggled so far this season. He's young and will get better, but I think now might the time to take him out of the firing line for a game or two.

Larsen for Ramsey because I think Larsen offers a threat in behind a backline as well being good with the ball. The ball Trafford kept playing to Koleosho would hopefully be more successful with Larsen there. I'd also play Muric for this reason but it won't happen.

The Foster for Amdouni for obvious reasons. I'd swap Brownhill or Berge for Amdouni to give us an extra attacking edge should we need it in the second half.

Desperately hoping for a win here. A defeat down there isn't worth contemplating.

I would put Ramsey where Amdouni is and perhaps start Zaroury or Odobert

For me, the priority is feeding Foster as often and as fast as possible.
Therefore, on this occasion, I'd start Zaroury and get him to fire crosses into the box.

If that isn't doing the trick, we can always change things, but that's how id go.

You highlight a key area there and will be interesting what Kompany does.

It's unsurprising that Al is showing inconsistency ( he was very good against Man Utd in the previous game ) due to his young age. It may be my opinion on O'Shea but I wouldn't take Al out for him after one bad game. I'd give him the chance to make up for his mistakes yesterday because I think it's about developing players and hiding from issues does not usually pay off in the long run.
If I was to rest a player it would be Ramsey ( even though he was also good against Utd) because I think the time is right to start Larsen or Odobert and the middle of the park takes precedence for me on Tuesday.
I'd also rest Koleosho and use him as a game changing sub .

Because he is now extremely slow at this level.

I understand the reasoning behind swapping out AAD, particularly as physicality is likely to be more of a requirement than pace. But I really think we need to stick with a settled back five if possible to build on their understanding.

Having watched highlights of Luton on SKY today, they looked quite a tight unit and very good and physical in set pieces and crosses. For this reason VK might decide to go 3 centre halves

Make an argument for Larssen, or even Tresor.

First things first - Foster is our centre forward and we build around that. I can't think of many, if any teams to survive in recent times that haven't had a physical centre forward and Foster is that man for us. That means Amdouni needs a different role and for now I reckon that has to be playing off the right side.

Koleosho has been terrific, but he's 18 and will need the odd breather. Given Luton are likely to let us have the ball at times and sit in, I'm not sure its a game which will lend itself to his strength, which is isolating defenders 1v1, and Zaroury's end product is better suited to that situation and he's proven to add a dimension to us in a Championship situation, which is essentially what Tuesday is.

Likewise, we'll have to stand up to an aerial examination and whilst I am a huge fan of Al Dakhil, O'Shea gives us an extra leader suited to Luton's physical threat.

Yes, I think Cork would be valuable in defending free kicks and corners, as well as his day job.

One of our tallest squad members and a decent header of the ball.

No coincidence- Not sure O’Shea has shown anything so far to suggest he’s anything other than a useful stand-in

I like the look of it on paper, but Zaroury isn’t half as effective on the right, and I feel Koleoshos best position is left side too.

I’d start Zaroury, doing his mazey dribbles, disorientate their back line, with JBL on the right, then bring Koleosho on with his pace once Zaroury has bamboozled them.

ADD had a poor game against Newcastle and I've always thought he struggles against more physical forwards so he gets a rest here for me.
3 man midfield, with Brownhill and Berge going box to box, Cullen sitting. Roberts & Taylor stepping inside to strengthen the midfield when in possession.

I really like Amdouni, but he plays so deep he takes a position similar to that of Berge or Brownhill in the midfield, but doesn't offer as much in defensive capability like they do and he doesn't offer much width either, so if we have a midfield 3 then it's either Amdouni or on of our many wingers. I've gone with Zaroury for balance, albeit playing on the right. He and Koleosho can always swap sides during the match.

Alternative, drop one of Brownhill or Berge for Amdouni, but I would go with a more solid 3 man midfield for Luton away.

Can’t argue with that logic.

I would be tempted to start Ramsey. I think Luton will be a really compact unit, someone like him that can sit between the lines and play through balls could be critical. That logic also works for Amdouni.

Bring on Zaroury and Odobert in the 2nd half to score the 3rd and 4th goals. ;-)

My team would be

Muric
Roberts Al-Dahkil Beyer Taylor
Berge Cullen Brownhill
Amdouni Foster Koleosho

Trafford is a good shot stopper without doubt but his vision isn't as good as Muric at this stage.

Subs wise we have so many options now with all of them capable of stepping up.

Good moment to rest some players who went deep in the Newcastle game. I'd give O'Shea and Delcroix some playing time to get them involved. Al Dakhil who I think made a slow start but has impressed me last two games. Either way I'd put O'Shea in his place and Delcroix for Taylor so he can rest a bit.

Trafford
Roberts O'Shea Beyer Delcroix (Sub vitinho for Roberts and AD for Beyer)
Cullen Berge
Trésor Ramsey Zaroury
Foster

Maybe Amdouni for Ramsey. Trésor and Zaroury should be fresh and dying to prove themselves. Amdouni could also sub Foster after 60 minutes.

Good chance to try Cullen - Berge as a holding midfield both players seem to be getting better and better. They should be complementary.

Trafford without a shadow of a doubt. What a goalkeeper.
