2-1 Liverpool, this game is a wonderful example for not playing out from the back.

Hadn’t thought about that but you’re right. Did he even get a yellow?

Pxxxing around at the back
Both Liverpool goals came from Brighton not clearing their defensive lines
Re: Today's Football
Clear case of denying a goal scoring opportunity and not even a yellow ??

Re: Today's Football
there are going to be 3 distinctive divisions in the PL this season. Top lot, middle lot and then Bournemouth, Burnley, Sheff Utd and Luton fighting it out at the bottom. Wolves won't be anywhere near a relegation fight. Everton, plenty of experience that will see them get enough points against those around them and should keep them our of trouble.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 3:58 pmWolves not rolling over for Villa despite losing key players in the summer and having a last minute change of manager..
Re: Today's Football
Yes but we beat Luton last week and Wolves didn’t. That means we are better than Wolves.

Bit bored of the snide comments. Yes, a real surprise that a Wolves team containing better and more expensive players than us could get a result against Villa, a team that put six past Brighton the other week.

They lost some of their best players to start the season and had a manager walk to start it!Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 4:12 pmBit bored of the snide comments. Just saying they’re making it tough for opponents and getting stuck in.
To start the season the giddy ones on here would have predicted us to finish clear of Wolves

Man City doing to Arsenal what Chelsea did to us 2nd half.
Re: Today's Football
Neville slagging Arsenal off for just what we did yesterday ,Raya continually trying to play short and coming under tremendous pressure.

Last week Curtis Jones gets a Red card, today Kovacic with a worse challenge only gets a Yellow. Bonkers.

Re: Today's Football
That has to be a red! No where near the ball, studs up and, definitely, endangering a player. But, nah, it's a City player not a Burnley or Forest or Luton player so yellow is fine. What a stinking league this is.

Re: Today's Football
Amazed that wasn't a red. Catches him above the ankle.
I hope he got away with it because Arsenal roll around faking injury. It'd be nice to think there was some form of comeback for it.

Two i 5 minutes and still Oliver doesn't think it worthy of at least a second Yellow if not a straight Red.

Re: Today's Football
Seriously, how the feck is he still on the pitch? Oliver is an absolute disgrace and has lost the control of this game now as how does he judge any challenge/booking from now on. Truly awful.
Re: Today's Football
Absolutely incredible that Kovacic is still on the pitch after making a challenge worthy of a straight red, and then another yellow card challenge.
Oliver is meant to be one of the better refs as well. God bloody help us all.

Bottled it
Re: Today's Football
A nailed on red then a nailed on yellow...but he's still on the pitch.
Re: Today's Football
He barely touched the man for the "second yellow ". Stupid thing to do, but it shouldn't be a certain card.
Re: Today's Football
Absolute clear second yellow.

Re: Today's Football
The inconsistent refereeing in this decision really is tedious.
I thought Berge’s ‘handball’ which was disallowed followed by Gordon’s Harlem globetrotter impression 5 days later (which was fine) was bad enough.
Yesterday Foster gets flattened and the ref tells him to get up, minute later their player gets the same and it’s the free kick which leads to their equaliser.
Today, two identical tackles from Kovacic and one is deemed a yellow and the other not.
It really is boring.

Re: Today's Football
I was very surprised that VAR didn’t upgrade the Kovacic yellow to a red but I was stunned he didn’t get a second yellow for the next challenge.
Re: Today's Football
Apparently Var can upgrade a yellow to a red but can’t tell the ref to give someone a 2nd yellow.
