Which players have impressed you this season?
A bit of fun for the international break.
Which players in the premier league have surprised/impressed you?
I will go with:
Ardinga at Brighton, he looks like another top talent found for relatively low money.
Sarr at Spurs, just a midfield powerhouse.
Declan Rice, got to say I doubted he would improve that Arsenal midfield but he looks to have stepped up and might take them to the next level.
Diaby at Villa, hit the ground running looks like arguably signing of the summer.

Anthony Gordon has improved enormously in my opinion from the diving little squirt that we saw play for Everton against us.

Great shout, he’s been really impressive.jedi_master wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 11:06 amAnthony Gordon has improved enormously in my opinion from the diving little squirt that we saw play for Everton against us.
Il throw on old name out there, but I think McNeil has also been a big reason for Everton’s change in form.
Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Alvarez would probably be a main player at any club other than City. Can't believe he is not even a guaranteed starter when everyone is available.

A fair few in that Spurs team, particularly Udogie, who appears to have come from nowhere.

Maddison the signing of the summer.

Their GK also looks good, especially because he was shaky during pre-season.Swizzlestick wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 11:46 amA fair few in that Spurs team, particularly Udogie, who appears to have come from nowhere.

I agree very much came from knowhere and is now arguably one of the best left backs in the league
Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Eze seems to have gone up another level this season. Enjoy watching him.
Maddison arguably the signing with the biggest impact at a club so far.

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Other than those mentioned:
Lyle Foster - our Soweto Superstar looks every bit a Premier League number 9.
Saliba - world class centre half.
James Ward-Prowse - West Ham haven’t felt the absence of Rice one bit.
Joachim Anderson - probably the best centre half outside of the ‘top 4’
Dominik Szoboszlai - think he will take a bit longer to truly get up to the full speed of the Premier League but I think he’s brilliant

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Van de Ven looks very composed for 22 yr old and his partnership with Romero looks really good.
Maddison he has been that good so far even Southgate has to pick him
Neto & Conor Gallagher have both been better than I thought they were this season when I have seen them

I actually think Palace have the best CB pairing outside the top 6.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 09, 2023 1:31 pmOther than those mentioned:

Not Anderson and Geuhi could easily step up IMHO

Brunn Larsen. Looks the real deal for me….
And Foster. Yeah, he’s very good indeed that lad.

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Two more experienced players that have started the season very well:
Trips is in really good form. He's in the latter half of his career but is fundamental to the success of the Newcastle team.
Sterling is about the only player looking vaguely top half a dysfunctional Chelsea team. It was a very bad defeat on Saturday, they are currently abject.

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Tompkins at centre, thankfully as the back-ups have looked pretty poor. Rio dyer winger off the bench. The argentine winger who looks almost as fast as zammo.
Fraser Thomas at merthyr.
Devon witherspoon at nickel. I mean, yes, I drafted him thinking he'd be good, but holy crapp, he's just insane. The realisation that brock purdie wasn't just a flash in the pan.
Agree with Gordon, foster, szc etc. and a few others, but somehow the Premier league and all of its whinging, cheating, var nonsense isn't doing it for me this year yet

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Although we made it relatively easy for him, I thought sterling was very impressive
Surprised he wasn’t in the England squad, particularly after his good performances at the World Cup

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Matty Cash at Villa
Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Bellegard at Wolves.
The team that's consistently impressed me with the quality and entertainment of their play is Liverpool.

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Lots of potential. Cohesive unit not yet in action. You can't write off so many games, in the Prem and still come good. Puts pressure on these young players to perform. They won't all survive that.

I think for 27m he is looking like a good bit of business for villa.
Could quite easily sell for double that in the summer on current performances

Re: Which players have impressed you this season?
Brighton paid 27m for Balega after 20 or so often sub appearances in France. They do not mess about if they see potential.

We made it beyond relatively easy for him, we gave him half of the pitch to play in.
