We are getting worse each game, not better.

The trajectory is downwards I'm afraid

I did see that.

It’s either creative accounting or some investment yes - that no doubt wants a return on, so again, not cash that the club has generated.
Somehow neither the endless history of ponzi schemes, nor the 2008 recession, has taught some people that endless financial speculation with other people's money that you need to then deliver profit on to keep going, is a bad idea.

Anyone know if the drummer will be in place in time for the next home game? That will help massively.

The whole feeling around the team will have completely changed if we carry on like this for the rest of the season.

No way we walk the Championship again.
Norwich did it twice under Farke in similar circumstances.

You don't understand how football works.

Did we lose McNeil for dirt cheap? Cornet? Collins? You know, the players who have potential.
You tell me who'd we sell on for profit?

Trafford - who would pay above £15 million?
Tresor - £20 million?
Amdouni - £15 million?
Berge - £15 million?
O'Shea - £8 million?

The list could go on I'm all ears mr.football but this potential is getting battered by 3+ a week.
I've not seen anything yet to suggest there good enough and your lying if you say you have. Were a very poor squad

Why should the alarm bells be ringing? We’re not even a quarter of the season in yet!
Brentford are a very good team, even without their main striker, like us they’ve had some worldies scored against them, that have changed their games, ran Man Utd very close last time out.
Our problem is that we haven’t got a settled, established Team yet.
Give them a bit of time and a chance.
Even without their main striker?
They've almost half their first team out ya weapon.

9 games. 23 conceded. We have one of the best defenders to grace the game., In charge. How can it be this bad.

I don’t truly believe there’s any real intention of staying up this year.
Nonsense. We stay up at and the values of the players are much much higher together with the rewards financially of staying in the PL.

If there's any positive today then the fact it's so bad, embarrassing and obviously not working, and one of our apparently winnable games, may be enough to cause the board to tell Vinny he has to end the experiment now and focus on getting points - or else he's out the door.

Please!

Disgraceful this though
Frustrating. Infuriating. We all knew where our weaknesses were for recruitment. It doesn't mean the right players were there for us.

I think we are naive and weak throughout the spine. I've said it all summer.

I'm still seeing the plan. I'm still on board with it.

I don't care if we get relegated as long as we show progress. Today is awful but I've seen a side to Trafford that I didn't think I would. That's something.

Selections certainly seem to agree with this although I don't think we gave up on staying in the division

The problem is the players themselves are not as good as the fees we have paid for them - especially the higher priced ones

Kompany's stubbornness will get us relegated
Brentford have given him a lesson, shoot on site don't try to walk it in, attack with pace don't pass for the sake of passing giving the opposition the chance to regroup, play form players, get your keeper to only pass to players who are mot marked.

True. I just feel the whole ground will lose patience very, very quickly though. It was bad enough at the start of the last Championship season until we clicked.

Did help that Norwich's 2nd season was in Covid times.

Trafford ain’t the problem
He’s part of a defence that is averaging 3 goals conceded per game. I am very much in camp Muric and whilst I believe some of the criticism levelled at Trafford is a bit much, he is very much at least part of the problem.

Three seems to be our average unfortunately.
The red (and yellow) cards are a particular worry. It's indicative of a lack of discipline, and shows just how much the team is being stretched for the vast majority of games.
Some of the players look (understandably) shell shocked, and confidence is obviously low. One of the things that Dyche was able to do consistently was to turn the players round after a bad defeat.
Lack of consistent selection, and the ruthless change of.personnel over the summer make it more difficult to build morale.
We will see over the next few weeks/months what Kompany's man management skills are like.

Every relegation we have suffered has been due to a weak midfield. Without sorting that as priority and a few positions after that, the outcome will be another relegation.

Spending north of £100 million and not addressing key areas is either naive or plain stupid.

What concerns me most is that the next priority appeared to be a left back - a position that I don’t dispute that we needed but paying a massively over the top fee for Maatsen wouldn’t have solved our problems.

I just can’t understand why someone with years of experience from playing in this division has opted for very little experience and ignored key areas in favour of a raft of wingers.

It’s one thing when you’re Man United and a ******* global brand that pulls in insane revenue even without the PL money.

Different when you’re Burnley.

Utterly irresponsible and I hate how our club is being used to generate cash for a few that didn’t even put their own money into it to own it.

Ironically, assuming Blades and Luton will be down, which I do, if we win next Saturday we will be 4 points clear of our rival for 18th (AFCB) with them still to come to the Turf.

And I see us achieving it. We are struggling, but so are they.

We are the worst team in PL without a doubt. VK looks bemused and demoralized as do the team and the fans. Sadly for him it’s all on his shoulders. I am struggling to find 1 player who I can give more than 4 in the player ratings

I said some time ago that we will finish bottom, and nothing I’ve seen since has changed my mind
That's a harsh assessment but we said something similar coming off Chelsea. E coudm go euther way here. Either we start to gel better and do well against the sides with less individual brilliance I which case we start to click, or we continue to struggle and if so we finish bottom because we don't have the personnel to grind out results- Sheffield and Luton will both nick points here and there by digging in. We won't.

Today has been awful and also makes hoping for the former (we pick up) looking less likely than finishing bottom. Plus the red card means we miss Roberts for the game against Bournemouth so our already weak defence looks even weaker.

There's still a way to go yet but we really do need to stop persisting with the new expensive weak links until we start to get some momentum. Sadly I don't know who else we might play there - Cork is not the answer - he wasn't good enough last time we were here, neither is Jay and whilst both might do a job to come on and steady the ship later in the game we can't rely on them to start and run games.

It looks a bit grim really but we do have some players capable of hurting sides - we have to hope they start to deliver the end product we need.

Yes he’s young and I’ve no doubt he will be a good keeper at this level, but VK isn’t helping him

Ekdal and beyer as a pair is desperately needed. We do not have the personnel to play 4231, if Roy Keane in his prime was sat alongside Cullen then maybe. Otherwise, Amdouni or Foster needs to miss out for Brownhill, Cork or Massengo. Larsen has to be given a start.
