Your highest point as a burnley fan?
Your highest point as a burnley fan?
Think we need reminding of good times
I could say quite a few times but winning the league at deadwood last season will take some beating, never felt as good coming off their ground and that includes Wembley.

Re: Your highest point as a burnley fan?
When Blake scored against Man Utd in the first Prem season.
At the time they was Man Utd who everyone was scared to play, winning trophies galore.
Was shocked we was even in the same league as them never mind beating them.
Never heard a goal celebrated as loud as that one.

For me it has to be when as a young lad I bumped into my them hero and favourite player George Oghani. My dad had dragged me out shopping with him at some DIY store as he was putting some shelves up in my bedroom. As we were coming out of the store we saw Oghani who was about to go in. I shouted his name and gave him the thumbs up and he came over and chatted to me for 5 mins which was brilliant.

Did he say what he was shopping for?
Excellent bait, decent cast.

Wembley - Sherpa Van Trophy Final - 1988
We got thumped by a majestic Wolves team, but what a difference a year made (the Orient game).
I was far more obsessed with Burnley as a 9-year-old than I am now, so it was quite an occasion.

Wembley '88. Two great old clubs packing the ground.
The result wasn't anything more than a disappoint.
Signalled for me our long climb back after those dark times.

Re: Your highest point as a burnley fan?
I think it’s a close call……..the week we won at Chelsea in the cup, followed by QPR away both with my son………….
But
Wembley, again with my son…..back in the 4th division days never even thought I’d see Burnley at Wembley, let alone win, and let alone with my best friend, my son…………….

George Oghani was putting shelves up in your bedroom? He would have needed the ironing board to stand on, I get it.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 4:07 pmFor me it has to be when as a young lad I bumped into my them hero and favourite player George Oghani. My favourite season was the 1973-74 season apart from the Newcastle sem final. But I would say the ultimate high was the 1991-92 season with the obvious special night at York
